Fault has been diagnosed as a faulty light module, new one has been ordered, two week back order from Germany
Hi, could you please share more detailed information on the diagnosis, repair number, part number etc.? It would be awesome as I do have the same issue for 8 (!!!!) months now and all I got from Ford is the information that there will be an update in Q1 2023 (but guess what, no update appeared). I am enough of disconnecting car battery to reset levelling system.

Unfortunately I can’t give you any fix, as our car is still at the main dealer, we won’t drive it now until a fix has been found

Bu99er, yesterday I got the dreaded too low dipped beam. It reset OK and is now working so will have to see how it goes. I thought something didn't seem right when I was in the chunnel and tried to change to LH traffic, the option was greyed out.

Hey boys, got the same issue randomly since day 1.
When it happens it's quite dangerous and utterly annoying. How do you guys reset it ?
I tried a lot of stuff and I usually let it go away when I park the car for a few hours.
Cheers

Hi, sorry to read this..
Disconnect your battery for a couple of seconds - it should do the job.

interesting, I read something today which says that the low headlamp issue is caused if you press start without the clutch pedal (manual) or the brake pedal (auto) pressed. That seems the case for me, the only time I had it was when I changed from RH to LH traffic in the channel tunnel last week. In that case I pressed start without the brake pedal pressed to get access to the vehicle settings because I didn't want to start the vehicle. Does that make any sense to any of you?

It could be, I'll try to reproduce it.
I sometimes have a warning on screen (during the day so I don't know if the beam is too low or not) saying "check adaptative headlights, cfr manual"

Just jumping in on this thread, I noticed it this morning where the light was dipping. I'll try and start the engine with the clutch fully in and see what happens

A small update if anyone was following. I've booked the car into Ford to get the lights checked out in a couple of weeks. It's going in for the low dipped beam after the engine starting but also for the adaptive light, not adapting.

I only noticed this when I was in my brother's car who's also got a Mk 4.5 ST and his adaptive lights are constantly adjusting, blocking out cars and lighting up the dark areas of the hard shoulder as we're driving along. The main fog light (blue light on the dash) is constantly going on and off, hence the name adaptive lights. I've never seen this on my car since I've taken ownership in April.

I've gone into the settings of my car and "anti glare" is definitely switched on so I'm not sure why it's not working. Unless I'm doing something wrong?

Anybody else experiencing this?

Adaptive headlights will not work if it is not confident it can "see" properly with the cameras.

Does your traffic sign recognition and lane keeping work ok?

Yes they both work. The headlights swivel left to right as you make a turn as well.. It's just I've never seen the high beam come on automatically on my car, whereas my brother's car was constantly going on and off.

Do you have the white A in a headlight icon on your dash? I'm not sure where it is on the digital display, but on mine with the analog dials, you have to push the stalk as if you want to turn on full beams, you'll then get the A in a headlight icon on the dash, but they won't come straight on, it's just enabling the auto high beam. Pushing the stalk again will override them on, pushing again off.
I think it cycles between forced on, Auto and forced off. You have to make sure the auto high beam icon is on the dash for them to work.

Yes mate the white A for auto lights is on the dash. The auto headlights come on when it's dark as it should. Same as above, you push the left stalk in and it will cancel or switch on the the full beams.

For context this is how I discovered that my car is not behaving correctlly

I'm in my brother's cars on the M5 at midnight so it's pretty dark. On the dash the white A and the blue main high beam are lit up together. The LED lights are doing its party trick of blocking out cars but at the same time highlighting the dark areas of the motorway.

The left stalk, if I push it in; it cycles through like you said. The white A goes off as well as the blue main beam. I push it again the white A AND the blue main beam light comes back on the dash, and carries on doing its LED party trick.

When we arrived back, I jumped into MY car and then headed home. On the motorway, ONLY the white A comes on. The blue main full beam (blue light on the dash) doesn't come on automatically. Theres no LED party trick on the motorway, the headlights are just switch on, dead straight and only swivels from left to right when I make a turn.
I've never seen it come on before which is why it was so noticeable in my brother's car.

It's normal for only the white A to come on initially, but it should start turning the full beam on by itself when it can.
I have issues when its a bit damp, it doesn't work until the car has warmed up a bit. Probably because the camera is fogged up.

I've had this headlight issue a couple of times where the lamps stay pointing low and don't sweep when turned on. Booked in for software update on 16th October. Earliest I could get due to my shifts and being away.

Just got the car back after 2 days. They said they've updated 3x modules. Not sure what's involved but hopefully the issue has been sorted. Won't know till later tonight.
