How to remove key blade from top half of fob?

Hey guys, does anyone have any idea how to take the actual blade out of the top half of the key fob?

Just got a replacement blade off eBay, but it came as just the blade itself, not the top half of the fob. So I have an old fob with a blade that a key cutting place made a complete balls of, so it's useless. I just need to figure out how to take that blade off and out the new one in. Anyone have any idea how?

Cheers.

Ok, I obviously didn't make myself clear enough, my bad. Thought I did.

I've already done that, I now have literally JUST a key blade, that I need to attach to the upper half of the key fob. I need to remove the blade, just the blade, from the existing housing and replace it with the new blade.

I have a feeling it may be impossible, can't find info on it anywhere.

It is possible as I have done mine but it is pretty tricky splitting the key blade half, first I used a large flat headed screwdriver, you may want to cover the head with electrical tape to avoid damage then insert it it the recess that the key blade goes when closed and turn the screw driver to slowly prise the key housing apart.

Next is just a case of following the gap around to fully open it up but be careful as the blade is spring loaded and may shoot out and lose the spring, to put it back together you just do the reverse but the key needs to be wound around a couple of time for the key to flip out when the button is pressed.

As you can see my key housing was in a bad state so I was not to fussed about damaging it because I had a new one, none of the clips broke as I done this but this is just for info on how I achieved it, so please don't blame me if you damage the housing

Cheers fella's. I'll have a go at this later on this evening.

Went into Ford on Saturday to ask the guys there if they knew it was even possible to remove the blade itself from the housing and they just had a puzzled look on their faces and said no. Didn't inspire too much confidence that, neither did them asking me what my opinion of the ST was as they'd never been in one.

I was planning to use that garage for some servicing as well...
