So after many many days of reading and researching,it would seem that my GFB dv+ is the most likely cause of the issues I've been having.The spring seems to have way too much preload which is causing the insane compressor surge and poor boost "delivery".

I will loosen it and see what happens but I think the best solution would be to just get a forge recirc and be done with it.I should have just stuck to the tried and tested from the start lol

 

Heh, it is exactly what I have noticed while playing with GFB dv+.
If you want the noise, you have to tighten the screw which will open up the valve ever so slightly and you feel like the car is not pulling as hard. If you want maximum performance you have to trade in the sound. I say the same, better a simple recirc valve without all the settings.

 

The most frustrating part is I was told by mu mechanic and the mechanic who owns the dyno that it is the map...I can't wait to sort out this issue and show them what dreamscience can do.I am not far off from their cars running their custom tunes.

That should give you a hint about why they will always do better than any map your going to run. Didn't they offer already to make a better map for you ?

 

So I noticed my coolant level has been dropping slightly and my cap broke....as luck would have it,my health took a turn for the worst and i was forced to drive myself to the ER before I could get a replacement bottle and cap.

Feeling much better thank you...Had a respiratory tract infection.

Did some ordering while I was recovering.Got a set of 15mm spacers.Hoping these will help with my rubbing issue.Also ordered a forge recirc as I have no desire to fiddle around with the GFB dv+ to get it set right.Ordered a new coolant bottle,cap and a toe eye cover.Really excited to get it back up and running again!

 

Replaced the expansion bottle and cap and that seemed to have fixed my coolant loss.I dropped it off at a mechanic this morning to have the recirc fitted aswell as have him run a pressure test just to make sure.He also fitted the front spacers back and did a quick check over.

I will need to go disks and pads ASAP and the control arm bushes are worn.I also have a few buckled wheels lol.

 

Picked up the car today and boost is super smooth so I guess it was the GFB that was not installed correctly.I am not happy with the front spacers at all.The center bore isn't what I requested so the studs are taking the weight and the nuts that were supplied have heads that are far too wide.I will be be removing them tomorrow.

 

Got a set of TSWs.Been wanting black wheels for a while and decided to finally pull the trigger.

 

Typed out a long paragraph then lost it FFS.

-Front spacers removed
-Front brakes fitted
-Bought actuator springs
-New diffuser incoming in the new year

 

Not much to update besides finally finding the cause of my coolant loss.It seems like my radiator has a crack in it so I will need to get a new one.

Also ordered a handbrake cover and shifter boot from aliexpress.It was cheaper than a big Mac including shipping lol.

 

Good day gents...car was put on the back burner during the festive season but I'm feeling motivated again.Fitted a new battery today and got it washed after sitting for almost a month.

It will be going away to get the radiator replaced,actuator spring changed and hopefully they control arm bushes.The new wheels should be going on soon too.I have all the bulbs for the new headlights as well all interior bulbs.

Tailights are absolutely hideous and will need replacing soon.

 

So I picked up the ST yesterday and did a fair bit of driving over the weekend-leak free!!!!!

Car some how feels stronger yet weaker at the same time.I will dyno next week Saturday to see where its at.

I've literally gotten up to look out the window atleast a dozen times.I cannot believe what a difference these wheels have made.

I would like to spray the Calipers and think tangerine scream would be a good choice.If not,then red it will be although I feel that is too common here.

We had our little 225 dyno day today...

I won the stock turbo class with 237.9kw and 439nm on pump fuel.I'd like to throw in some ethanol and see what it can make on a colder day.Was waaaaay to hot to be recording cars and taking pictures unfortunately.

 

In real money, 319 BHP and 324 ft lbs.

 

 

Car has been performing well so far.Feels really nice to just enjoy it for a change.

I am tempted to throw in some ethanol and dyno again seeing as our fuel here in RSA is notoriously crappy...I would be over the moon if I could get to that 330-340hp mark.

 

 

Got myself a boost gauge.I just need to find a vent pod and then I will fit.Car has been behaving extremely well.I've done a fair bit of driving over the month of February and have had no issues.
