This is probably going to sound stupid but I read of someone saying focus xr5 is it the Australian version or is it different to our St version I have pre facelift

ST225 was imported here to Aus and renamed Focus XR5 to better fit with local Ford model naming (XR4, XR5 Turbo, XR6, XR6 Turbo, XR8). In Aus a basic Nissan is an ST, I think it means standard, lol.
The current Ecoboost ST has not been re-named here. Easier to just leave the name I guess. The Fiesta ST170 was called an XR4 here. Might have gotten confusing between Focus and Fiesta to continue with that branding.
The 5 cylinder turbo Mondeo was also known as Mondeo XR5.
