Have you hit your head recently? Your going to turn down some of the best back roads in the UK because you feel the ST cannot cope.... I hope your joking, if anything the ST will actually love it, and do it some good!

You will have nothing to worry about, I drove too Milton Keynes , Silverstone , Had some full throttle fun around the track, and took my family comfortably back to Essex with nothing the matter at all, and that still left me with a 1/4 of a tank by the time I got back. The only side effect you might get is more pops from the exhaust but that aside enjoy the journey

Hey,

I want to go down to Cornwall for a 3 day weekend and it seems logical to drive as trains and flights are £200 plus per return and also have horrible times.

My worry is that my ST just isn't suited to a 1000 mile round trip. It is standard but not sure I want to put that sort of stress on her

500 miles in one go. Just feel like some thing is likely to go wrong!

Any one done any particular long trips and could give me some advice/reassurance? I'm trying to sort out taking a more economical car but I'm under 25 so ill need to pay for temporary insurance.
Wow... take it and enjoy it.

When I go on a really long trip....

I just set the cruise control for 60, sit on the inside lane and listen to some good tunes - not tiring at all, get over 40mpg.... s'all good!

I live in cornwall and when I went to ford fair last year by the time I went to Silverstone and then up to Collins the day after then down to my sisters in Salisbury I ended up doing a 1000 miles trip in the weekend
you really shouldn't worry about it the ST is a 2.5ltr engine its made for long cruising esp with a 6 speed box 70mph 6th gear is not even 3000rpm so the engine isn't even doing any hard work unlike someone with their 1.0 in the other lane screaming the absolute

of it just to keep to 70 the only downside is fuel hahaahah

PS cornwall's full theres no room at the inn

The weekend before last me and 6 other ST drivers were cutting our way through Wales to the Gower Peninsular and back, not sure on ow many miles we did but it was 2 days with a good number of hours behind the wheel doing far harder driving than you will be doing on a motorway and there were no breakdowns from any of us. The journey you are making is easy.

Your brakes where squeaking like

Haha there has been some interesting replies in this one. Thanks guys

I drove down to ford fair this year, 230 mile trip there. Only problem I had was a very stiff clutch pedal due to the heat and motorway driving!
