Hi all,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for one of these to turn the eml off on the car. It has a full scorpion and the light on due to a de cat.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I'm looking at the Scorpion system, 3" non res w/ sport cat and my main concern is keeping the EML off and passing emissions testing, does the 225 have 2 sensors stock (afaik it has one pre and post cat) and does the Scorpion system remove one? Have asked this at the dealer who would install the system and they didn't seem to know which surprised me, they must not sell many.

If the system keeps both sensors I have no concerns, if I'm running one down I would think most problems are easy to sort out but I don't want to buy it and find I have issues in the MOT.

Thanks

Jack

Hi,
One of the sensors is on the downpipe (pre-cat) and one is on the cat section, after the cat. So whatever exhaust you will pick, if its a cat back it doesn't have anything to do with the sensors (hence their response).
I don`t recall seeing a downpipe or a sports cat forst225 without a sensor bung but you have to check to make sure.

Alexander/Nick,

Thanks for the help, I probably wasn't too clear in that I was looking at their downpipe as well as everything mentioned, and on their website I couldnt see anywhere for the sensor to go (and also a warning that the downpipe "removes a factory emissions control device and does not meet current emission laws").

I've had a closer look at the photos and can see the bung , this clears it up.

Cheers

Strange with them saying the downpipe removes an 'emissions control device' as I presume by that they mean the cat? However on the Mk2 the downpipe & cat are separate so swapping the downpipe still leaves the cat in place. You then need to swap the cat out for a sports cat or decat to remove the 'emissions control device' ? Only on the mk3 is the downpipe & cat all one piece so then you get to fix two problems by fitting a bigger downpipe.......

Exactly my point, the downpipe and cat are sold separately, a warning flags up on the decat to tell you it removes a factory emissions control device (to be expected), but that same warning comes up when you choose the downpipe from the products on the page. It doesn't flag up for anything else sold on the page so the only thing I could think of was they removed a sensor.

It must just be a mistake on their website...
