How did you get on with the TMPS message coming back? I finally got round to fitting my new wheels with the new TPMS sensors today and the wee grey tool worked perfectly, got the training complete message on the dash so I'm hoping not to see any warning lights in the near future.
Hi, i didnt do anything as it has not shown up in weeks until today. Im not removing the warning light now, leaving it up and going to take the car somewhere to find out which sensor is bad as i cant do that myself. I do have FORSCAN, not sure if this will have what i need to find a dead sensor though. They are a pain mate.

Not sure what to do, took the car to kwikfit today. He used his tool to go round my sensors and could not detected any sensors working atall. This is while the warning was still up on the dash(Tyre sensors not detected, check handbook). He changed the model between 2011-2015 focus. 2017 focus and focus ST 2011-2018. His tool picked up nothing. I put the car in learning mode, still nothing. I reset the light, still nothing when he scanned down next to the tyres.

Probably looking to take it Ford now so they can plug in there diagnostic tool via the OBD port. They will just charge me to even look at it nvm anything else. Pain in the :censored: these sensors, im unsure weither to just go into FORSCAN and just disable them completely myself.

The lad a kwitfit said he has never had this issue before, im hoping he knows what he was doing. He did go round the car many many times with his tool down next to the sensors. There is no way all 4 sensors are dead on a 2018 car. I drove about 2 miles to get to kwitfit, sensors should be woke and active. They take around 30 minutes when stationary to go into sleep mode i read. So cant figure out whats going on honestly.

How do i proceed, do i bite the bullet and let Ford pull my pants down? I read one guy on a forum got charged 108 pound just for it being looked at. All i want to do is find out which one is dead and causing the issue... Or is there a larger issue if non are getting picked up? Cheers

When I had problems last year, I'd read that after waking the sensors up, they have to be at the 12 o'clock position to reset them.
Also, I noticed that mine faulted at the same place each day on my way to work, usually 20 minutes or 8 miles from home, so 2 miles may not have been far enough to wake them.

in the end I gave up and bought one of the boxes I linked in my previous post.

From what iv read on other forums, they turn on when a certain speed is met however, the warning light after being reset will come back around either 12 miles or 20 miles. Im going to try find someone with a tool tomorrow and see if they can scan the sensors via OBD port.

Its funny because i bought a cheap tool from ebay and im getting one beep on one of the tyres, previously i got a beep on the front right and today on the rear right. This was on the "train front left wheel" in learning mode. So i know for a fact atleast both sensors on the right hand side are working... Yet today quickfit couldnt get any signal from any sensor.

Iv got a link saved with the hex edits for FORSCAN if it comes down to disabling the system, ill just do it for free on my laptop, rather not pay 60 for a tool if i dont 100 percent need it plus if im going to pay that for a tool i could replace all the sensors for that, im sure this can even be done with just a drop down box in forscan and select "Without monitoring system".

Its just annoying its so hard to find out which sensor is dead, you would think they would just tell you or it would throw a code in the DTC's.

Thanks though, if it comes down to it and i cant seem to get it fixed, ill just disable them. I would rather have the system just because it probably can have a good use in some cases.

Sounds promising, let us know how you get on. If you do need a replacement sensor and you're using rubber valves then its the ones linked below that I got...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-FIESTA-FOCUS-B-MAX-C-MAX-TPMS-VALVE-SENSOR-GENUINE-OEM-PART-UK-SELLER/264932637129?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
Hey mate, you sent this link before, its sold out. Just wondering if you know if the part numbers matter?

So as far as i can see the overall part number is 2036832 (they list this in the link you sent), yet when i search for 2036832 the manufacturers part number for example on the link you sent. In the picture on the actual sensor itself the numbers stated are EV6T-1A180-CB and EV6T-1A180-CB. Finding others that look the same the manufacturers part numbers are different again on the actual sensor.

Will this matter or will any sensor under the 2036832 part number work?

For example would this one be ok the one you found was at a really good price:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353253333516?hash=item523f8a1a0c:g:tlkAAOSwWe9gAbF0

@Siye ST

I'm not sure on the part number but the ones you sent on the link say Focus 2011> so I'd be inclined to think they will do the trick.

I got the dreaded "Tyre pressure sensor not detected, check handbook" message on the dash today. After fitting new TPMS sensors & valves a few weeks ago and training them with the grey box tool it's been fine until now. After using the tool the dash gave the "Training complete" message so I don't know what could have gone wrong.

All this time its been fine and now, typically, the day before it's booked in for an MOT it shows up. I've reset them again and the message has disappeared for now so fingers crossed it doesn't come back mid MOT.

It shouldnt come back mid MOT, when i reset my light it usually comes back around 20 miles+. The grey tool i have doesnt work properly for some reason. Sometimes if im lucky it will train one sensor and i will get a honk. Iv had a honk from the front right and rear right side on different weeks thats how messed up it is... But if iv had a honk and retried it for the same result a honk means that sensor isnt dead. So atleast i know that the drivers side sensors are ok. Im not taking it to Ford when i could replace the passenger side sensors myself at the tyre place for about 50 all in. Thats what im going to do with mine and hope it fixes it once and for all.

Let me know how you get on, the system honesetly sucks... Iv been to a friend who has a proper OBD tool but it shows nothing. Only ford have the tool that will tell you exactly what sensor it is via OBD port. The tool you bought, was it the same one listed in this thread? cheers mate

@Siye ST

Well it behaved for MOT time at least, lets see if it comes back. Yea the grey tool is the same one linked earlier in the thread, when the message appears does it stay on until you reset it? When mine came on then it showed the message, the TPMS dash light would flash for a while and then it would disappear as if it had fixed itself.

The message stays up until i reset it, its never went away for me unless i reset in the cluster menu, then it will reappear after like 20 miles. I got the same tool as the one listed from that link but its not working properly for me. It could be that my front left sensor is dead as iv never been able to get a honk from that one. But iv only been able to get one honk in one training session if you will. 2 weeks later i got one honk again but from another sensor. Never had a honk from passenger side so going to just replace that side and see what happens.

So quick update, the problem continues but in another way. I got my new sensors and as soon as i took off the first of the two suspected culprit sensors i noticed a green coloring inside the clear part of the first sensor (front passenger side). I was happy with this and i knew this sensor has to be the dead one. It looked like battery acid so just replaced the one sensor.

So my initial warning was "tyre sensor not detected, check handbook" which would come back after say 20 miles of driving". Today after this replacement im getting "check tyre pressure", iv reset this in the cluster menu over 10 times with my correct pressures. No joy, the warning comes back within about half a mile or less. So this is completely different to before...

Also i used my dodgy sensor learning tool that has never really worked and for the first time get a honk from the front left tyre (the one with new sensor) so i know the replacement sensor is good, as there was a honk. Couldnt get any others to honk in this instance. however iv had a honk from the front right and front rear.

To even get "check tyre pressure" is different, so im thinking the dead sensor situation is fixed... I check the part numbers and they are the EXACT same... So i wouldnt have thought they would need reprogramming as the numbers on the sensors themselves all match.

Do i just continue to drive it with the tyre pressure light on and hope it sorted itself out? will it go out? or do the problems continue? The sensor i got was from focuscity on ebay, this is the only sensors i could find with the exact part number. As said iv had a honk from it on my tool so i know its working.

Are you manually checking the tyre pressure to see whether the sensor is accurate and telling the truth?
Yes, im manually checking them with a pressure tool. So was just typing an update as you replied. So after the car sat for an hour. I went back out and decided to drive it to see if anything would change. The warning never came on for " Check Tyre Pressure". Im back to "Tyre Sensor Not Detected, Check Handbook" this pops after around 20 minutes of driving and me thinking maybe it was all over and done with... This same error pops up, now i dont know if thats because of the new sensor (not brand new i got them for 15 each from focuscity on ebay) needs detecting and to drive more or because another needs changing and more than one is dead... Ill post a picture of the sensor i replaced you can clearly see the battery acid inside it, there is green inside the sensor... So 100 percent i know this sensor is dead, however i dont expect another to be dead.. They are such a pain, iv got another sensor here to use to replace another... I just dont know for certain which other one to replace. Its such a pain in the ass.

I didnt train them but i reset them via the instrament cluster menu, as i already had the 19 inch ST3 wheels which are almost the same as the RS alloys. Thank you for the part number, that looks like the ones i have. There are some sellers that list that part number with another ( 2318530/2036832 ) would these be ok? Since this has happened i have found out there is a training mode where each sensor will cause a beep, when you realease pressure which pairs and sets the sensor. I may try this today to see if one sensor doesnt cause a beep, then maybe thats the culprit? Then i may find which one is broke. I will pair them all first and see if the warning pops back up. I dont think that tool is needed since you have this training mode built in. It just so happens my MOT is in 7 days, i had reset the sensor before i go in.. But it needs fixed. Thanks
How do you reset the sensor

I’ve tried to retrain mine with a grey tool, but the message keeps coming back, tyre sensors not detected, check vehicle handbook. Is there a way to disable them with forscan or would this be a trip round kwik fit to have them replaced?
Thanks
