Hello

Having just taken the ST to Birmingham airport and back over the last week, I noticed three audible "bongs" similar to the warning noises you get for the "You've got out of the car and left the lights on again, idiot" noise.

It only happens when I hit 80 so I suspect that it's just a safety feature. No warning lights are on and the "audible alerts" part of the manual isn't helpful.

Is it just a speed warning (and can I turn it off) or is it something else and should I be worried?

Thanks!

Are you using a Garmin Sat-Nav by any chance?

I've had the same thing in my facelift after only a week of ownership (got the car April 1st

)and originally it was an 'engine failure warning' (amongst others) that came up on the drivers information display. Without going too far into the story it was explained as a software glitch that came from a low battery voltage that triggered all sorts of false warnings; the engine and everything else were fine when checked by the stealer. They said it could take a while for the battery to fully charge and settle down, especially if I'm doing short journeys with high loads on the elecrtical system, which I was at that time. I was a bit sceptical at the explanation as I've been in the Instrumentation game for years but decided to wait and see...

I had a couple more warnings that were just the 'bongs' described over the next month but with no error displayed. I've have had nothing for the last couple of months so I'm hoping the battery is now fully charged and sorted.

I didn't have my Tom Tom sat nav in the car at the time so I suspect it may be a similar warning to those I had.

Will be interested to see what you find.

Cheers
