Air snorkel question?

Hi guys!

We'll today when I had the slam panel off I noticed that below the air intake snorkel there is a little plastic panel that I'm assuming stops debris getting sucked into the air filter. Now this seems to be blocking a very good path for the air to flow between the upper grill and the snorkel.

I'm wondering has anyone removed this to get better flow to the filter? Did you notice any difference?

Yes might just take it off. Can't believe I've not noticed it before as ive had the as cais for 2 years now and it's been of and on loads of times but this is the first time I noticed the panel. Just looks so restrictive.

I removed it . didn't notice much and the standard air box is absolutely terrible for air flow anyway, but if you have an aftermarket filter on it, you'd be stupid not to and illogical lol . Take it off! Must give some benefit!
Don't believe the hype, nothing wrong with the standard air box of a mildly modded car (apart from the looks and lack of sound)

Some time ago i dynod the standard airbox with k&n and spacer against the as enclosed induction, it lost 1hp over rev range but on the bright side I had a extra 2 hp between 1500-2000 rpm with it fitted lol. Ran on the same car running bf stage 3. Myth busted in my eyes
