<{POST_SNAPBACK}>they prob won`t feel any diff the big improvement comes when you track the car as the braided lines and better fluid mean you can maintain brake feel longer.
Yup, absolutely no difference in pedal feel on mine after I'd fitted new hoses and bled new DOT 5.1 fluid through the whole system too. And this wasn't a surprise to my mate who's played with cossies and RS turbo's for way too long. Don't know all the reasons but part of has to be the spec of the standard hoses (reinforced rubber etc) and the fact that maybe 75% or more of the brake system is already hard metal pipes and with the durability specs of the rubber pipes they fit oem the proof of the pudding is that the improvements to pedal feel are minimal. Maybe the set-up of a big servo booster etc comes into play too. I know braided hoses make a big improvement on bikes but these are replacing the whole lines rather than a small percentage like on the ST. Plus a set of 4 1-pot calipers slide mounted on rubber bushes will always have an inherent squidginess in the braking feel.
Companies like AP will supply braided hoses with their kits because they probably do give an improvement under very extreme or track conditions, can be done in nice colours, are tougher for wear and tear if they're flapping about against things if not secured with rubber grommets ect like oem ones, and compliment the feel you get once you've gone to a proper fixed 4-pot or 6-pot set of brakes. Plus before lines with swaged ends became more popular it was quite straight forward to make up custom sets of lines with different lengths, ends etc then just nip up the threaded banjo fittings to finish off.
I know what lever feel is achievable with a set of radially mounted 4-pots, braided lines and a World Superbike spec master cylinder on the bike I just sold but there's more to change on a standard ST before you'd get anywhere near as a comparison.
Apologies for going of topic, I'm out of ideas now for ST Xmas pressies
