If your car is worth 11-12k, you'll need a £5k bill to write it off...... Your list has got to be nearly there....

65% of the value or more and its a write off new engine is £3100

QUOTE(DeanST @ 24 Nov 2009, 07:11 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Prob write off if they put new engine in, probably best as you never know how much of a good check over it will get and how good the work. Best if you got a good price, fingers crossed eitherway

How did the
s nick it ?

they broke into my house and stole the keys im hoping that they will write it off as it wont be the same even if the work is to a good standard

I think id be more damaged about the possible damage to the sump/engine, must of been bottomed out or something?

The other stuff doesnt sound so serious, although the wheel damage could mean the suspension had a bump but that should be checked after.

If Alan is right you could sell it after (to someone on here
) if not happy or not accept it until its done right. Not too sure what your right are there, im sure someone could advise.

If you HPI it after does it come up as prior accident damage??

Only if the car is subject to total loss claim, so if it's repaired a HPI report would come up as clean....as long as the Stolen vehicle marker that is placed on all stolen vehicles has been removed.

I'm thinking repaired but if they find engine damage once they strip it for inspection then its a write off.
