Hi all,

Sorry if this has been covered before, I did a search, but was presented with thousands of threads containing the words "which" and "intercooler"

I'm thinking of treating the car to a new intercooler, and the two that have caught my eye are the Airtec Gen 3 and the Dreamscience unit. What are peoples opinions of these? Are there any pros and cons to each one?

Also, once the intercooler is fitted, it'll be running alongside a decat turbo back system & K&N induction, am I correct in thinking that this will allow me to start running the Dreamscience "Mod" maps?

Thanks in advance for your assistance

Both excellent intercoolers, both do the same job. The DS one is made by Radtec, a more "quality" brand. No real difference in the job they do though.

Yes you will be able to run Mod maps with the intercooler and turbo back exhaust.

Take a look at the Pumaspeed RoadSport intercoolers as well.

Can be had for about £250 new which is a nice buy.
And supposed to be the same as the Airtec ones but with extra mounts for oil cooler if needed.

I run the Radtec which I believe is the same as the DS one as Mark mentioned, also had one on the wife's ST and recently added one to her RS. Can't fault them so far

What do you reckon on their stuff?
I see they do an uprated radiator as well.
Don't know mate.
I was just giving Alex an answer he didn't expect

The rad looks a decent bit of kit.
Might be a decent buy if it has a warranty

The only thing that is putting me off at the mo are:

1) Unknown brand.
2) Seems too cheap

3) Doesn't mention a core size. AutoSpecialists say it needs to be 50mm to aid cooling properly.

I'll follow them on Facebook and see what they're like.

Just bought a Road Sport Intercooler from Pumaspeed, great bit of kit for £247 and good for up to 330bhp.
Where has the 330bhp come from?
If this inter coolers the same design as the Airtrch does this mean the air tech is also only good for 330?
Ill never go anywhere near that but I'm Interested as com instance renewal I'm look at inter coolers!

Pumaspeed quote on their website up to 330bhp so if its an identical copy of the Air tec then i would assume its the same, but could be wrong. Fine for what i need.

I thought the Radtec was the best intercooler out there?
Radtec not the best intercooler.
Im sure on a test that one of the Ford mag done it came 3rd or 4th behind dont quote me.

1st Pro Alloy
2nd Airtec
3rd Radtec

It was listed somewhere on the forum a long time ago.

Picture of a Radtec intercooler that split.

Thanks for all the info guys
I've gone for a DS intercooler. I've had a radtec before (tbh I didn't realise the DS ones were radtec before reading this thread) and was impressed with the quality of it and also the level of customer service provided by DS is excellent, so they got my money.

Hopefully it'll be here by the weekend, so I can fit it along with the downpipe!
