well after nearly 3 weeks since the wife holed the sump on the st ,no major movement on the car, the st was towed away to the repair garage 30 miles away to hopefully get fixed !! yesterday i gave nationwide repairs a ring and eventually got through to someone who new what they were talking about , and he said that its not just the case off removing the old sump and putting a new sump on fill with oil and way ya go!!!! he gave me a load ov dribble saying they have to send it to ford as they are a crash repair centre and dont really deal with things like this!!!! so this looks like its going to be a long haul to get her back am sick as a puff with piles!!!

Not good mate, better to be safe than sorry though especially with the engine you don't know if any damage was caused

most insurers will only Gurantee the work if it goes to their approved place. You can send it somewhere else, but ususally you dont get the warranty, or a very reduced one.
on my previous car this went from 24 months panel / paint warranty to 3 months...

Why didn't you have it recovered to a Ford Dealer in the first place.

And tell your insurance company that it's at a Ford Dealer and they could inspect it there?

Now it has to be moved again to get it to a Ford Dealer sound odd that Nationwide are involved at all.

You choose a reputable Body Shop that gives a decent warranty - simples!

It will go to a ford garage they will look and inspect it if they think its more than wat it is it will be written off

Make sure you keep your self in the loop other wise they will contact you later on when you think it is being repaired to tell you it's fubared when you no its not as dramatic as they say

Feel your pain! Mines been off road since 12th December and has only gone to be fixed on Wednesday. I would go off on one as to the saga that is going on now but car is out of my hands.

Mine took 3 weeks to have the door sprayed. The thing that takes the longest is waiting for the insurance company to improve each cost.

At least if its gone to Ford it'll be all new parts. Probably a lot more than it needs if underwriters are paying.

When ever ive needed work ie Body work or Mechanical ive told my insurance company where i want the work carried out.

I know they have there own repair garages but it dosent mean you have to use them.

As long as the garage you are taking it to is vat reg and has the right bodywork documents.
