Whats It Worth?

With a baby on the way I have been thinking recently of perhaps getting rid of the ST.

I've been looking on autotrader, but there's only one 57 plate st-3 on there with 20k, private advert at £13,495.
The 08 facelifts start at £15,495 (£16,995 trade) 07's start at £12,500 private (£12,750 trade)

Webuyanycar quoted £10,940 (internet quote)

Here's the spec:

2007 57 Reg ST-3
Performance Blue
Full Service History
Parrot Bluetooth
Rear window tints
23,000 miles.

Any ideas on what it's worth?

Cheers

I would presume to advertise around £13500 and negotiate to £13k maybe slightly less if you are desperate to sell.

prices do seem to have dropped lately (shame cos selling my ST500 also)

but it is a bad time of year and who knows what next year prices will be like

good luck
David
I have the same spec ST and it is currently for sale on pistonheads albeit mine has 30k miles. I found it extremely difficult to set a price so thought I'd put it up for £12,750 incl a few mods.... Only had 1 response thus far in a week of advertising and he offered me the asking price but think he's since decided to put any purchase on hold.

I'm going to leave it for another week or so and then reconsider the pricing but tbh I think I may just end up keeping it and running the car long term / big miles. Not sure I'd be 100% happy with anything else without spunking a load more cash on another car.

There's a way of putting the seat forward so it remembers where it was positioned

I've a 3 door also and my 3yr old daughter fits in no bother - sometimes I even let her drive if she is a good girl.

I suspect that the baby angle may be a cost issue and not a car seat one?

Anyway, I have noticed in recent weeks that the number of STs on Pistonheads has increased bigtime and so competition is pretty bad now to sell - there were 200 on there tonight.

I have toyed with putting mine on PH, 08 facelift ST3, nice perks (dual climate, blackened window, sensors) and at 14k I was thinking about £15,000. For your 57, I would plump for about £13,500 with scope to come down to £13,000 maybe.
thanks for the replies so far.. was thinking more of getting a baby seat into the back with the chunky seats and big doors?
Wont be any problem - just move the ST front seat right forward and put the baby seat in the back.

I have had a pre 3 stage seat and now a stage 3 seat (I think thats what they are referred as) in my ST with no issues.

Pull the little paddle handle on the side of the seat and push the back of the seat forward until it locks in a forward leaning position. Then slide the whole seat forward on the runners. To put the seat back to its normal position, push the whole seat back on its runners with the back still locked in position and then release the handle at the side and let the back fall back into place. Hey presto, seat back in original position!!!

By the way, I've got a daughter and the 3 door ST3 is brilliant. The doors are huge so easy access and the rear recaro seats really grip her child seat (if you buy the Britax one which fits beautifully). Personally I think 3 door is safer for the child and no worries with child locks when they get older.

^ I'm sure the drivers seat has no "memory" hence resets itself.

Still considering selling as I believe that I will make the least loss on my car now before the next plate change, having bought at near trade price last year.

What do you think would happen trying to part exchange against a car of equal value? Would a dealer consider a straight swap or take the
with the p/x price?

I must have a special one then... If you pull the lever and lean the seat forward until it locks in position (important - otherwise it doesn't work) you can then move the whole seat forward on the runners. Once you've finished doing what you are doing in the back of the car, push the seat back on the runners until it stops, then pull hte lever and put the back back up.

Hey presto, it's back where you started

So 13000 - 13500 private maybe?

yep i'm thinking running costs long term insurance isn't that cheap at 22/23 !

Cheers i would be happy with 13k i think could buy a vectra/2004 bm/2004 audi and a meriva for her with a bit left over, 1/2 insurance, 1/2 fuel nearly half tax costs...

I think you will struggle at that to be honest. Like I said earlier I have mine up for £12,750 with 30k miles and a few desirable mods (I accept these don't necessarily add any value) and not really had a sniff. I know it's a bad time of year to sell but can see a price drop coming if I want to move it on...
