What Bulb?

orderd this in for rear dome from the pinned section but not the correct one-- Rear Dome : U42G9 (264) 41 - 44mm Bright Green Dome Light (9 Leds) Superior (Festoon)

its a long bulb that came not a push in one with a flat bit on the end,anyone know which one i need,i think it's a 501...

Is this for the number plate lights?

If it is then the older motors use R 239 bulbs (the type with a metal cap at eash end glass in the middle)

Newer motors use R 501 (Capless - as your description)

Some companies drop the r from the part number.
