I thought kkk and u can't do the turbo without the other RS parts like ecu etc , or that maybe just with the RS lump conversion

It is a kkk04 turbo as standard and the upgrade options are either a hybrid K04 or the RS turbo and then GT28, GT30 but the last 3 would need the compression ratio lowered so updated pistons and rods and also a modified/strengthened block for reliability

There are a few with the RS turbo on standard internals but don't think they've gone mad on power and are mapped 'safely'. Think one guy is running around 380bhp this way.

Yeah, beyond a hybrid you should de-compress. The RS KKK K16 turbo is a much neater conversion than GT series IMO.

Depends what you want from it, but on a stock ST engine I would personally not go over a hybrid K04/06 unit.

Heat is a killer on the ST donk.
Big turbo is big heat, so really, over about 350hp is not a lot of point.
The RS donk though, well, warp factor 10 Scotty
