Hi all,

Thinking of joining the ST owners club (i.e. buying an ST), have been looking at various cars on Autotrader etc. Was wondering if i leave the links to the websites you could cast your eyes over them and see what you all think and the realistic prices i should be paying for the cars in question. Thanks in advance. Scarry

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...9&logcode=p This one is fairly local to me just 60 odd miles away and sure i saw it on Ebay for £14000 but didn't have the funds at hand, missed out there me thinks.

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...7&logcode=p This one is in Scunny where i live.

Look forward to hearing from youse.

Hello Scarry

If the distance is not a problem, I would go for the one @£14995 a lot better spec all round and not a bad price for what you are getting, however if the pennies will stretch try and get the facelift model, theres nothing wrong with the old shape at all, but its always nice to have the latest model.

Cheers

I'd go for the 07 plate - £995 cheaper (maybe discount a bit more?) and with the saving you can spend £100 on a TomTom sat nav

i still think you could haggle down as i picked up a 06 plate ST2 from a honda dealer for £11000 when it was up at £11995 a month ago - can't see a year newer ST3 being worth £3k more?

I've bought a Scooby from eddie wrights a few years back, had a couple of niggles but they sorted everything - i'd buy from them again if they had the car at the right price

I agree I would go for the 07 £14000 one as you don't need the sat nav plus if I read it correct the £14995 has only around 5000 miles on the car at that age does that sound right I don't drive mine a great lot but that has just done 4600 and that's 7 months old shame about the colour but still a great car
in my opinion for that money, you should be looking at an 08 facelift. I bought mine, a 57 plate pre-facelift ST3 in performance blue for £11750 10 months ago.

Bear in mind that was at trade price. At that time the facelift was about 16k ish so couldn't justify the difference.
Thanks for all your opinons and thoughts, think I'm going to stretch the budget a little and probably go for a 2008 facelift model around the 16K mark. Still do like the pre-facelift model though, but not so keen on the silver surround on the front fog lights. Think the interior on the facelift model looks better, i.e. Instrument cluster looks classier than the old model. Sorry but silver is the colour i prefer, agree orange does look nice, but not sure i could live with it for a few years though. Will let you know which one i decide to buy. Once again thanks.

I'd buy a ST500 with leather DEATC and silver stripes and only 6500 miles

oh and I am selling one just like that in the for sale section !!

prices look OK on above but I'd go for lower mileage one and try to negotiate price - silver is a rarer colour

Well bit the bullet and got myself a 2008 facelift model 15000 miles deatec air conditioning, 5 door, reversing sensors, global close black out rear windows etc in moondust silver for £15695 from a dealer in Bradford. Happy days me thinks. What do people think?
bargain or slightly to highly priced? Officially a member of the ST owners club!! PS been celebrating my purchase, so a little drunk!!

I'm glad you've got yourself something sorted

Was going to say with regards to that first one, don't waste your money. The description is all over the place. ST3 + 3x3 point rear seatbelts = not an option. SATNAV + cd mutlichanger iirc = impossible. Heated door mirrors = not an option. And I'm pretty certain the only service indicator on an ST is the sticker a service centre would stick somewhere to tell you when it's due
I don't like it when people lie in their adverts and people need to make sure that everything listed on an advert is present on the car if not, tell the seller they are a t
sser and walk away.

Didn't look at the second one but no matter. Enjoy
