These are new technology tyres, never go flat

SEE THROUGH TIRES

A radical new tire design by Michelin.
The next generation of tires.
They had a pair at the Philadelphia car show.

Yes, those are 'spoke-like'connection fins to the inner part of the tire from the outside tread 'wrap!' The next picture shows how odd it looks in motion ....

Makes you wonder how the ride feels doesn't it? Well, it is fantastic in the extreme!

These tires are airless and are scheduled to be out on the market very soon.

The bad news for Police and other law enforcement is that stinger spikes will not work on these.

Just think of the impact on existing technology:

A. No more air valves ...
B. No more air compressors at Gas stations ...
C. No more repair kits .....
D. No more flat tires ...
E.. Less expensive and more money in the drivers pocket.

These are actual pictures taken in the South Carolina plant of Michelin.

Good idea but I would imagine it would increase tyre noise when driving, how will Police stop car theives with them fitted as spike strips are not going to do much

Wont be much fun if you live in the sticks and have the usual suicidal rabbits and birds etc playing chicken with your car, be a right mess to clean out of your wheel if one gets in there.

If they were developed a decade ago, question is...why are they still not out in the market?

Maybe they havent figured out how to make them work of high speeds?
Maybe because they think the public will not buy them due to uglyness?
Maybe because the current tyre types would be thrown out at a loss?
Maybe because with tyres that dont puncture, sales will be lower?

All of the above and cost, probably.

Think how many less tyres they will sell if no one gets a puncture, a bit likellightbulbs they have been able to make them that never break for years but no one ever makes them.

It would be a pain to black out all the spokes with tyre dressing but you would see my nice shiny suspension easier

I would assume they are just for demonstration & they will put a sidewall on them before/if they ever offer them for sale.
can't see them becoming available though. bit like the cure for the common cold!
