Well.....The mid-life crisis is still dragging on........

So ....I've been & bought myself an early Christmas prezzie............so that I can re-live my "YOOF"

I see it as an "appreciating classic" and I've always hankered for one, as I had a few XR3i's (mk3 &4) & jumped to the RS turbo (mk4) missing out on these rare
's

I hope you like her ......& will forgive me for "dabbling with the darkside"

Love it! I'd love to get hold of a classic retro Ford. Trouble is, I spend all my money on the ST, so I'd end up only being able to park it on the driveway and look at it

Yes you are right , there was a 1700T ......it was a rear wheel drive prototype but was beset with probs so never really made it,
The mileage on my new toy is a warranted 70k

Looks brilliant! If youve had early Escorts before im sure you dont need telling to get everything checked underneath and then inject all the hollow parts with Waxoyl or similar! Lost my old RS Turbo to tin worm even though it all looked immaculate on the outside! The chassis rails rust from the inside out on them!

Dinitrol is the best thing. Waxoyl just goes where you spray it which is ideal for the outside but dinitrol keeps creeping for ever and works its way into seems etc. My Dad has used it on 2 old vehicles since new (1965 & 1972). They both have original panels and never had any welding done! So spray that inside the sills and any seams and tube sections

And nice car by the way

Looks stunning, I am another that always hankered after one but never managed to own one as I became a capri 2.8i nut after my 2x xr3i's.

Very true Andy, my S2 rotted away on the rear chassis rails.
