Im sure many people on here have got an iPhone, Im looking to upgrade my contract and wouldnt mind an iphone, the only thing what puts me off is that as i have my phone on me all day everyday whether they are to wide?

I have a nokia 6300 at the mo which does the job, but everyone else seems to be joining "the touchscreen revolution"! even my boss whos the worst person i know with technology is getting some HTC touchscreen jobby!

So what are your thoughts on them? is it worth paying £30+ a month to have? (pay £15/month at the mo)

Listen to the wise old sage stevie g , best thing out there , still in love with mine after 8 months of ownership
Wont have anything else now !!!

Best on the market and upgradable when updates are available. Lots of apps to personalise your phone with games / features!!!
Just replaced my 3G iphone, had the 2G before, they are great at what they are designed for (as in music and videos), but as a phone itself it has some limitations, although the limitations are getting less and less with each OS upgrade
I've got one and was pretty sceptical about them before but it really is brilliant. Most touch screen phones are terrible but the iphone is spot on, have to admin tho blackberry was much faster for texting.
I'm a phone geek and changed them all the time until I got the original iPhone now running 3gS 32 gb it's fantastic. Infact just replied to this post on it. The good thing is if you don't have a handsfree kit get a ear phone cable & plug into aux in glove box. When phone rings just answer it, it comes through the speakers & the caller can hear you fine even if it's on the seat or centre consol

Just ordered mine through Orange to replace my Blackberry, mates have them and they love them. Blackberry and Palm Pre seem slightly quicker to enter text, but once you get the hang of it the iphone seems almost as quick. The 3GS models seem to download stuff much faster.
Does the iphone pair up with the
's built-in bluetooth ok?

I've got a Nokia N95 8Gb at the moment, but I'm due an upgrade next month. I'd love to get the iphone. My son's got the ipod touch & that's great.

Agreed. I just came from a BB Bold. Loved it.

Yes it does. No problems at all.

The range of apps you can get will keep you busy for months. Texting was my main concern, it takes a little getting use to. But not an issue now, 3 weeks on.
I'd say do it!!!

I have a 16 GB 3 gs and to be honest I can not believe how good it is especially when you have added a few different applications

It is a bit strange at first for texting but within a week or two you will get the hang of it...great for internet access if you are in a decent 3G signal area,I regularly post on here with it

Get it. You won't regret it.

I started using the iPhone 3G in Feb and was initially quite sceptical. The more I used it however, the more I liked it. To the point where my old Sony Ericcson K850 seemed really old fashioned. I'm now on the 3GS and the extra speed makes it even better.

One thing to note if you are looking at other touchscreen phones - most of the competition use resistive touch technology which is nowhere near as responsive and doesn't support multi-touch. You also have to actually press the screen for it to register. iPhone uses capacitive touch technology. The only drawback is that you must use bare skin to use it (i.e. it doesn't work with gloves on). That said, pretty much any phone is next to useless with gloves on, touchscreen or not.
I have a 2g am changing to a 3gs i love it they are amazing
Love my iphone, best gadget I've ever bought and the only thing I still use every day even after owning it a long time.

They are a good size for your pocket, provided you don't have some silly case fitted - I have an invisible shield thing fitted which is brill and stops it from scratching.

I've seen a few people, as one of the chaps above, saying it's not that brilliant as a phone but I don't get such comments - it makes and receives calls perfectly and so much better than any mobile I've had before, so what else can a phone do that is missing from the iPhone?

IPhone > All

Huigie how is the dock? would you say the dock is worth its extortionate price?

Seems to me Tom Tom have decided all iphone owners must have too much money to buy one in the first place so they can charge what they like for their products!?
