Just had one of the neighbours knock on the door to say they saw a lad taking pictures of the cars on our drive bearing in mind it's night and
it down I find it very suspicious to say the least. They have called the police to let them know. Got me thinking now though! I'll be sleeping with one eye open!

With cameras built into every phone, taking a photo isn't necessarily a preplanned event these days so it could have been a spur-of-the-moment thing from an admirer.

What else is on the drive, not a diesel audi/seat etc, they are getting knicked a lot at the moment, for more sought after than the ST.

Also noting the guy was taking pictures would not sound like what I would expect form a stolen to order type affair, these guys are 'professionals' and simply spot what they are after then arrange a pick up ASAP. When one of our company cars went (audi deisel) they spotted it in a car park and then got a recovery truck to tow it away from a city centre car park (Bradford police have it on CCTV)

Edit: Was typing this before you posted your reply, sorry I may not be helping to settle your nerves

Nothing to worry about. If he was a pro, he wouldn't do it at 8pm while still people around let alone stood there at your drive. They would do it slightly further up late at night but fair play to your neighbour for letting you know.
yeah best thing about living in a cul de sac surrounded by bungalows helps having nosey neighbours sometimes!

All ways have young lads taking pix and videos of the car over as the ST and RS are alot rarer than in the UK, worked out well for me tho when some
decided he was going to drink drive during the summer and smashed the rear drivers side from the door back to the bumper on mine and the front on my mates renault whilst trying to park in a spot you could turn a bus in then drive off, if it wasnt for the lads taking pics we wouldnt have got the reg of the car and get the cops after him.
If your worried disconect the battery or the Kam fuse, hopefully it was just lads admiring the ST and escort.

Will not stop them if like on our A3 they have a recovery truck (there again baring having a big dog in the car I can't think of much that would prevent that

Just a word of warning to be careful about telling people you're going to be away over the internet mate. Never know who reads these forums!
