I have an ST2 and when we got it the Mrs had to buy a new car seat to fit the car as the one we had didnt fit but am now looking at putting an ST3 interior in the car and wondered which seats you all thought fitted the best.

We have a combination seat (Britax Duo First Class Si) at the moment rear facing as Ben is only 3 months old and to be honest it doesn't fit as good as i hoped its very high up which doesnt leave much room for us to get him out an i don't think it will fit in the sculpted rear seats of the ST3 as it's really wide.

The car doesn't have isofix but i supose if needed i could fit it but am just looking on recommendations on the best seat to fit the ST3 interior.

I fitted Isofix myself & have used Maxi Cosi Cabriofix and currently use the Maxi Cosi Priorifix. Both work well in mine, I have used a protective underlay mat to protect the leather seats. If you fit Iso fix don't use the plastic location guides that come with the kit as these mark the leather.

I have the same seat as you and tbh its bit poor as a rear facing seat. I found the seat belt just got around it, its too high and rocks about too much for my liking. But as a forward facing seat, it is a lot better. My son is now one and we use it with none of the above problems.
We got the Front facing Recaro baby seat and it fits perfect, matches the interior aswell
, They might do a Leather one for the ST3.

recaro child seats get by far the WORST ratings, especially from side impact

look ok but i wouldnt for my lil un
I'll also be after a child seat soon... it will have to go in the back of my st3 (sculpted rear bench) but also fit in the front of the missuses car.

Anything in particular reccommended / not reccommended for the ST ?

i cant say that i have noticed the seat rocking about but Leish has said it does and its been annoying her

Hello good people. I have a 3 door ST-3 and a six week old son which I've now decided is a completely incompatible combination. It's nigh on impossible to get the MaxiCosi car seat we were given into the back of the car because the front seats won't fold down far enough.

Even if I can get it in there, which is going to get harder as he gets heavier, the MaxiCosi doesn't sit properly on the sculpted seats (it's far less stable than in the girlfriend's Skoda).

So.... unless anyone out there has some really smart ideas I've reluctantly decided the ST-3 has to go.

Which leaves me with about three options...

1. Trade it in for a 5-door ST-3 with IsoFix - how stable are seats in an ST-3 with the IsoFix???
2. Reluctantly change for something completely different (Golf, A3, Alfa159, BMW3 series etc)?
3. Keep the car and buy a roof rack and the little fella some goggles (he seems quite keen, girlfriend less so).

So, advices please chaps???

All maxi cosi seats so far have fitted fine in my 5DR ST3 with ISOFIX. If you can't find one with Isofix it''s easy to retrofit and costs approx £15 per side.

The Recaro Young Expert Plus was voted awarded Mother and Baby Bronze award 2008/ 09 for Best Infant Carrier, With Recaros new "Side impact protection system" Ive yet to find a review under 5/5 for safety. Recaro make lots of Child seats its important to get the best safety rating, there is no way Id just get a seat to make my car look better!.

I see a few of you chaps seem to have 3door STs but are managing to squeeze child seats in the back.

Is it just me having a problem and missing something (or perhaps using a different child seat) or is it a problem for everyone with an ST-3 because of the bigger bolsters on the seats?
my son has a mamas and papas

it fits dead tight in my st3 tbh

best advice is go to halfords and ask them to demonstrate the different models avilable into your car before you buy

I didnt get the seat to make car look any better. My mother in law bought it and had no idea what Recaro was

For those with an ST3.... in the end things weren't as bad as I feared and I've still got the ST!

I didn't get the Isofix brackets put in. Instead I bought a MaxiCosi Easyfix isofix base which can be attached to the isofix points in my girlfriend's Seat Altea and strapped in with the seat belt in my ST3. That cost around £100.

I also got a new Maxicosi Cabriofix seat which attaches onto that base. Again, around £100.

Together these two are pretty solid on the ST3 rear seats, nearly as stable as using the Isofix attachment in the Altea. And it's a massive improvement on sticking a child seat straight onto the seat which was a real no go.

I also discovered I had a bit more clearance for some reason using the passenger side door to get the seat in and out (rather than driver's side), pushing the passenger seat right forward and leaning and locking the backrest forward.

All in all, it's fine. Obviously not as easy as a five door but my son's now 14 weeks and it's been totally workable.

I also got a protective seat cover thingy because otherwise the isofix rod brackets on the base would damage the upholstery. I got a £20 one from Halfords which for some reason they gave me halfprice and it does the trick.

It was a bit of a relief for me to get it sorted (I really didn't want to trade in the ST) so hopefully this might save another ST3 owner a bit of hassle!

From a new ST owner we got our ST3 a week and a bit ago (although had to go back to get the isofix points put in as the dealer forgot!), OK we ordered a 5 door to make it easier to get baby in and out but our Mamas and Papas Viaggio and ISOFIX base fits perfectly on the rear seat which has been used in my company car.

They have also released a front facing seat that will fix onto the base as well which we are happy about.

We also bought the halfords seat cover thingy as well to stop the leather being marked.
I have a britax baby seat which fits fine in my ST2, it is a few years old.
