Hello peeps,
Been lurking for a while now and recently became a paid up member. [I must know everything!! lol]
Im looking to buy a pre-facelift focus ST in the next couple of months, but I have a question.
I went and looked at one at a local dealership and when I was sitting in it and playing with the seat and steering positions I wondered if the stalk off of the steering column that has the volume controls etc can be removed???
The reason I ask is that Im a bit strange and like to sit pretty close to the pedals/steering wheel and I wonder if I will continuesly knee it with my left leg?

So can it be removed easily and ould it cause any issues? Im not fussed about lossing it, as it only about another 6 inches to the actual CD player!lol Has anyone done this?

Thanks!!

Yeah, you need to remove the trim under the steering column, then it just 'clips' off, be sure to tape the wires up to avoid them rattling.
Or get the dealer to do it before you collect.

You will be left with a small rectangular hole.

It's very dangerous sitting too close to the wheel. In an accident, the airbag could actually kill you.
