Start/stop Button & Oil Pressure

Bit of a random question. If you are driving along and press the start stop button does the engine switch off? Looking at other cars with this they are all normnally mounted on teh dash out of the way but the
has it in a much more accessible place. Am kind of hoping that there is some kind of overide so the car has to be stopped to use it!

Finally, yes, I know you shouldn't touch it when driving but what if....

Also, what is the normal oil pressure for the car to run at. The Mrs was driving it the other day and said it was right at the top and I am not home yet to check!

Yes if you press and hold the start button for long enough the engine does stop. I beleive several short presses will get the same result. As for the oil pressure, it will be near the top when the engine and the oil is cold, as the engine and oil warm up the pressure will drop back a bit.

this man is spot on my oil preesure reads maximum when i first start up from cold but as the oil gets hot it drops back to just over half way on the gauge
if you press the start button accidentally while driving along it wont turn the engine off, only works when stopped. I tried this myself. havent tried holding the button in thou or tapping it repeatedly a few times.
if u hold the button in while your moving the engine will turn off!! my mate finds this quite amusing while were in the drive thru
