I've been reading up on them online, and a few reports I've read seem to indicate they should have silver stripes - I've found one for sale but it does not have these, I presume they were just vinyl and not painted on?

Are the 500s worth any kind of premium over the ST3?

Hi there

The ST500 does come with OTT stripes as standard, it's possible that the previous owner did not like them and removed them as they are only decals, but can just as easily be replaced.

Also just a head's up, all the ST500s are marked up as being one of 500 they are not individually numbered, which i reckon would not increase any premium over a standard ST. Had Ford numbered them in sequence then i would imagine this would have put a premium on the re sale value!

Yeah don't try and be conned by people claiming they are selling Number 1 of the limited edition, they all say 1 of 500 I believe

personally i dont like the ST 500,i think the red interior looks totally horrid and i cant see any point paying anymore money for one over an ST3 ,but each to there own its just my personall opinion of course .

quite simply the garish red seats ,sorry i think they look awfull and totally out of place with rest of interior .

i paid 14500 for my ST500
10000miles on a 57plate.

they are priced not much more than a ST3 sometimes the same.
i love them, think the interior is awesome, however not a fan on the stock OTT stripes. hence the wolf decals.

Not a fan either just seems like they borrowed some surplus seats from a Mondeo ST220! wouldnt be so bad if some of the rest of the interior had red in it -but hey hoy each to their own.

I looked at an ST500 before I bought mine. I like the red interior but just felt that Ford had done half a job. As somone else has said, maybe some contrasting interior details in red would have brought it all together a bit better, but the glaring mistake to me was not to have the door cards in red. I'm sure I'd still have been happy with it but decided to go for a plain black ST3 instead. Just my opinion, still like them but not for me in the end.

P.S. If I had an ST500, I'd definitely get the door cards done, would look so much better.
