hi

well search is still on and really getting confused, interested to hear what you think.

been looking at a EO st3 on a 58 mileage just under 6k, fully spec including sat nav etc up at £20k and been offered 5k for a 06 smart 4-2 passion grandstyle with 9k miles cruise leather .. the EO is lovely but think its about 1500 over priced and dealer not prepared to move other worry is is the eo too bold

he also has a green rs due in in feb, lux 2 leather etc, but due to vat rises etc looking at 31 or there abouts and still offering 5k px

also found a pb rs new for 30 again with lux 2 and leather but only offering 4k but this is in stock

so what do you think, is it really worth giving up smoking drinking heating and food ... well not that bad but is the rs worth the money we are torn over heart and mind .. #

hubby has 8 years no claims on both cars so insurance not an issue only one is almost as much as we paid for our house in 96...

Tbh, all the cars you mention are overpriced to some degree.

If you decide to look for an RS check out our sister site focusrsoc.com there is a dealer section where available cars are offered at list price.
I have been offered a brand new st3 from a dealers for £20200 and if you take finance you get another £1200 off. I would look at new TBH

RS is nice but its really an ST inside bar the seats. There is a demo for sale near me for £24995 with 8000 miles on Holliways Newton Aycliffe.

I'd buy the blue 58 plate with 9k in the for sale section on this forum for £16500 (in your neck of the woods too). I know you can't access this section but might be worth paying your £10 membership. I'd sooner buy from a member on here, best endorsement you can have I reckon. You can be pretty sure it will have been well looked after.

one of my local dealers had a green RS basically brand new with lux pack 2 on it and was looking for 29k so for 31k I'd tell them to go swivel.
If it was me, I'd buy a brand new
you can spec it exactly how you'd want it and with a few well placed coughs and nudges can easily talk yourself into some sort of discount whereas they won't budge on RSs as there seems to be some bizarre unexplainable halo around them
Must be some sort of circle jerk that I simply don't get. Nice car and all that, but 30grands worth of car? Not for me.

tbh if you can get an RS i wouldn`t even be looking at st`s
I just dropped my ST of at fords for it MOT & Service and they got 2 RS's in white.. Id seriously give them my car and a lung for one of them! IMO I think there great, Would love to be able to afford one!
Depends what you want really - both cars are very good, but I find it hard to justify the premium has over the ST. For a few grand the ST can go just as fast in a straight line as an RS. Yes, the RS looks beefy (although I hate the spoiler), but with a few sensible cosmetic mods, I am certain you can make the ST look just as good, and let's face it, the ST isn't bad looking standard anyway. Drive both before you decide as well, as I found the RS a bit too harsh for me.

I have been out in a few Rs's and I'm not overly impressed with the standard pace of the car a tuned St wouldn't have any problems keeping up in the real world of day to day driving.

When you start to push the cars harder the Rs will leave the St Standing

If you just looking for a good everyday quick car I would save 15k and buy a second hand ST. If you want something a bit more special that will love the odd track day and some serious tri-pod action get the RS

My St-3 With Sat-Nav, Mountune, Mountune Exhaust and Eibach springs all fitted by ford before collecting cost 17k roughly, car had 4700 miles on the clock.

Shop around there is a lot better deal to be had than you have listed^

Ive just order an Rs for collection next year im not 100% sure its worth it but hay worth a laugh

Now that's the sort of reasoning we should all pay attention to.
