Hi all, newbie here. Hopefully posting in the correct forum now for the EU spec Focus ST Mk4. I’m looking at fitting an HKS SSQV dump valve to the 2.3 EcoBoost unit, for no other reason but to sound obnoxious (don’t judge me for it lol). I really like the sound of the SSQV specifically, but my main concern is the installation of this. As far as I know these units have electronically controlled BPVs/recirc valves, whatever you want to call them, and as a lot of us know the SSQV is a traditional vacuum actuated valve.
My plan is to remove the BPV, tape it up somewhere and leave it electronically connected, and hope that the ECU doesn’t puke at the values it’s seeing. But I’m wanting to know if there are any aftermarket flange mounts for the valve to fit on to the charge pipe and vacuum-tapped intake pipes/manifolds? The stock charge pipe is plastic so welding is not an option for me, and I’m not a keen machinist either. Another user kindly pointed me to the “cp-e Turbo MAPTap” which could possibly give me a vacuum source without much hassle, they’re compatible with the previous gen RS so I’m wondering if anyone here has had that done before with the 2.3 unit fitted to the ST?
So yeah, I’m hoping to be pointed to some aftermarket parts that will allow me to install the classic HKS SSQV valve, and hopefully help any other owners who have the same idea. Preferably in a whole kit, if that’s available. Thanks!
