20mm spacers. Can you give me some info on them please. What are the advantages of them except for looks. Anyone care to explain the ins and outs for me please
Only advantage is that they improve the stance of the car by filling out the arches. They are actually detrimental to the handling as they move the wheel away from its designed suspension geometry. But on the road you wouldnt really notice. I have run with 3mm, 15mm, 20mm and different offsets of wheels on my ST with no real detrimental effects that I could feel. And as Nathan has pointed out they do put more stress on wheel bearings etc.
We were talking bout these yesterday motopeter has 20mm alround and gets a little wheel arch rub on certain speedbumps I was gonna go 10mm front and 20mm back would this upset the handling?
Pics taken in perspective /at distance can look totally different than when close up,
Just that maybe the suspension was unloaded in that pic,
Certainly looks low in the others
I've got 15mm spacers on front and 20mm on rear. I get no rubbing and it does feel slightly more planted with them on.
I wouldn't really recommend buying them if looking for a handling improvement though as the difference is minimal.
They look good though.
I just my spacers on..20mm each wheel and i am running eibach springs...no one will notice the handling difference...Just purely cosmetic in my opinion..looks nice to have the arch full!...i am waiting to get some 19"....
