Hi All,

I’m not very technical, so after a little help please.
There is a small amount of oil seeping from a rubber seal, just under the coolant expansion tank. Am I correct to assume this is the oil pump? Is this a common issue ?Guess the pump will need replacing? 2014, Mileage 104k. Thanks

Hey sorry to revive this old post. Did this fix the problem?

I’ve got a 2016 st3 with the exact same issue as you are describing here.
I’ve ordered the part, I’ll let you know how it goes.
I held off as I ask my local garage for a quote but they never got back to me and decided to give it ago.
Ordered an expansion tank and will replace at the same time, read that they can become brittle over time. 🤞It’s as easy as it looks on YouTube.

When mine went on my old Mk2 I got the uprated mount from Andy at A&K. It is also a very simple job to replace. Support engine on a jack/wooden block, pull off expansion tank, undo four bolts & away you go. Just be aware that the bolts will obviously be tight so I used a long extension bar on my socket & they soon moved. Probably took me 1/2 hour in total to swap it all over. On the Mk3 it should be the same & Hardrace do an uprated one for the Mk3 but it is quite a bit more money!
