This link shows what is covered. As rust is covered, it would be worth popping down to your dealership.

Is it where the rear screenwasher hose rubs against the body? this is just next to the tailgate wiring grommet, I believe some later cars now have a piece of clear tape stuck there like the ones on the corners of the tailgate.

You should take it back to the dealer as it's very unlikely this has been caused by external damage. But prepare yourself for every excuse in the book to be rolled out before they cop for the repair. If it's from the washer hose rubbing maybe point out the clear pad on later cars which obviously points to Ford knowing this was an issue.
I've read a few posts about this. I will try to remember to check out my car next time I'm in the boot
will they say anythin bout the car bein modified???

Warranty only affects things you have changed. So as long as you haven't fit a carbon boot you will be ok

Just getting mine sorted next week, had a spot of rust where the pipe rubs the paintwork. The Ford body shop reckoned it wasn't covered by warranty as it "could have been caused by putting something in the boot of the car" but i don't think they realised it was caused by the pipe.
I took it back to Sandicliffe were i bought it from and they agreed to pay for the repair straight away to be fair.

Ive just noticed that on my 2009 (58 plate) ST that the rear windscreen washer pipe has been rubbing against the paintwork and has rubbed through to the primer.

My car was in for it's first service last week, part of which was the paint and bodywork inspection ... should this have been picked up, or does this only include external surfaces ? I`m guessing that as the car is now over 1 year old that it wont be covered under warranty ?

Is there a FINIS code for the clear tape that they use at other places on the bootlid ?

Anyone know where I can get a touch-up spray (performance blue) ... i`ve tried teamtorquesteer but they only seem to have the set with the brush.

Edit: just noticed that the paint has worn through to the primer on the driver-side on the boot where it rests against the rubber pads ... the clear tape is missing :-(
