So my mk4.5 ST went back to Ford for a replacement media screen, I’m starting to doubt if they actually did change it, as the same fault has come back again, question I’ve got when I picked the car up, the screen still had my phone linked to it & all the settings were the same, does the screen store that information or somewhere else in the car? I was expecting it to be back to factory setting?

If the screen alone is replaceable it almost certainly won't have any intelligence built in.

What problem did you have? I get the checkered board sometimes. Once it got really bad and I couldn't use the screen at all. Had to turn off the car and wait several hours.

I suspect its software related over hardware

The APIM stores your phone bluetooth and other settings, it's a separate module to the display.
It also wouldn't surprise me if it's the APIM causing the checkerboarding, hopefully it's something they can fix in software.

I’ve had two software updates which didn’t fix it, a new screen, they have now changed a module which they say has definitely fixed it, I haven’t tested it yet because it’s still at the dealer awaiting the headlight fix
