Hi all,do you need a pc to put dreamscience on your st? or can you just use the handset to save your original map and upload new maps?basically i have a mac and i dont want to use windows on it,before with my last st i used bluefin which they kindly shipped out with map allready on the handset,i really did like the bluefin stage 1 but i would like to feel what this dreamscience is all about, modwise i only plan to do what i did last time ie panelfilter catback and intercooler

There are a number of options with Dreamscience - I believe they now offer a cheaper option which you can upload from a PC/Laptop, but you can still get the handsets and perform the updates from the handset - which automatically performs a backup of the original map.

That would be your best bet as Jared will sort you out - but I am 99% sure that the stratagem ultra is the new handset, they call the PC version something like "PC tuning platform".

The Stratagem Ultra sounds like what your after - it is just a more flashy version of the handset with touch screen etc (I think)

Save yourself the money and get a second-hand DS Stratagem handset - all the maps you need for your level of modifications and can be bought for around £300...

Quick, simple to use and great maps for up to 270bhp..

I'm no expert on how these things work, but this is what the DS site says...

Race tune
Power 265Bhp +/- 310ftlb torque +/- (STD car)
This tune is ideal for customers with full exhaust (any size), IC and GGR CAIS, this file will deliver maximum power and will hold a fraction under limp mode for the full modified vehicles (Boost 1.1 bar and holds 1.0 bar). This tune is fuelled to suit heavily modified cars and after customer testing this file delivers the same if not more power than the current GGR300 on a GGR300 car.

Race+ tune
Power 270Bhp +/- 330ftlb torque +/- (STD car)
This tune is ideal for standard cars who want the maximum power without any modifications. This tune is also good for cais and upgraded IC but not the full exhaust as boost goes above threshold and may hit limp mode. Boost hits 1.2 Bar and holds 1.1 bar, this tune works well with cais, IC and 2.5" down pipe or less only; anything above that it boosts too high and can saturate the maf.

As you know the better your intake and outlet the less boost you have to command to get the power. If a customer has cais, IC and 2.5" down pipe and full exhaust, they will actually hit 1.2 bar boost with the race+ program and another car with the 3" down pipe will hit 1.2 Bar with just race, the power result will be the same.

So, the maps are good for both std and modified cars, but obviously will give the modded car even better power increases...

thanks for that info,so all the maps which come with these units can be put on std cars just some work better than others, cheers mate
