Is ford the only option to get my radio code reset? Its asking for a code after the battery was unplugged but ive not got the handbook from the previous owner?

If you can find out the original supplying garage when the car was new they should have the radio code on there computer files,
Other than that you may find that your local auto electrician can get the code for you or recode the radio.
Failing that then its ford am afraid for which they charge

I'll do a bit of research then, id much rather go an independant place than ford.....but if all else fails.....

If you have the car's service history - you should be able to get the original supplying dealers stamp out of it and find out who it was

ford want £15 to recode my radio, apparantly the radio needs to come out :s

kosmo- I wont be able to remove it myself so I might as well let ford do it but thanks for the offer
