Just wondered what people think on private plates. I am thinking of buying one, not planning on doing anything sad like altering letters or spacing. Just my intials with say a old E reg or something

I think they are daft, just another way for the DVLA to make money. I've already got a unique plate on the car when I bought it.

If people want to personalise their car in every way thats great but a personal plate wouldn't be my choice.

I personally like them, i also have one. They are good for hiding the age of a car, although that isn`t the main idea behind them its a personalisation thing.

I love my plate, it was a 30th birthday pressie from my mum and dad so it was bought to be a keepsake and is really special to me.

I'm with Largey on this one, had my personal plate for about 5 years now and just put it on the RS.
I'm not a fan of altering letters and spacing but each to their own.

They are o.k. as long as they do not cost a fortune and they are not like a dingbats (or what ever it is called) question.

I have one on the Elise, as said it hides the age and is shorter so looks better.

Thought about getting my 4 year old son one for when he is older (they will cost a ££££'s by then) but there again he will prob not be able to afford to drive by then (we wll be priced out of being able to drive by then

i've had my plate for years..its a pain in the

(and a rip off) when changing cars , putting it on retention. I like the personal aspect and also it hides the cars age
