The question on my mind......................and many other owners minds is this !!

Am I happy with my Pre-Facelift ST ?!?!

Should I buy a newer ( but almost exactly the same ) car !!

A clean thread that can hopefully put an end to the war.......which is best !!!! (please no "its what YOU like that matters" or "each to their own" A simple vote should do it !!

Anyway after having 2 x facelift and 1 x pre-facelift they are both still awesome cars

with minor cosmetic differences.

If you can afford to change then do it, if not then keep on modding your current one in your own unique style

The choice is yours matey.

i would change to a facelift model

coz when u put old and new together the pre-facelift looks abit dated and the facelift i think just looks better overall i know its pretty much still the same car but its the little touches that i like,and it might just be me but i think the facelift looks abit wider

you may even also find ford have made some minor technical changes/updates to the chassis, engine and drivetrain, to slightly improve things... the 2.0 TDCi engine on the standard focus certainly recieved technical updates to the intake assemblies.. even has a different air filter.. so im sure the same is probably true of the ST, even if the changes are less noticeable and more subtle... 1 change they may of even made is to improve the ESP system... if the part numbers pre and post facelift are different then they must of done something with it.

probably hardly noticeable but the changes probably do exist.

i have a pre face lift and am very happy with it ,id not consider purchasing the face lift for a few little modifications fords have done to it , same car with a few little tweeks so no it aint worth it !
if i didnt have an ST already and was looking to buy one id obviously buy the face lift as id want the latest model if that makes sense !!
for me to change ,spend money on the part x deal to get much the same car realy isnt worth it to myself .

ill stick with the pre-facelift, loads more aggressive, and dosent look like a new zetec-s which the facelift does imho.

I'll be sticking with my pre-facelift as I think it still looks fab.

Before I owned my ST I loved seeing the pre-facelift ones come up behind you as it was so easily recognisable by the front fog lights, I don't think the facelift ones are quite so easy to spot, unless of course it is in orange!

I think the Pre facelift is a lot Better looking,but the interior on the facelift is so much nicer.
Like donna said,unless its in EO u can't notice a facelift ST until you're vertually right on top of it

Got the pre-facelift because it looks a lot meaner IMO, just a shame no one produces a front splitter or decent diffuser for it IMO!

Interior is nicer in the new facelift model...but I have a leather armrest now so that'll do

I have a pre-facelift and I love it. The facelift just looks to much like a normal Focus. Besides this the pre-facelift is a bit lighter and probably faster

Yet the facelift has a better drag co-efficient and thus is faster in that sense.
which equal's marginally better mpg, but no by much!

basically, everyone will prefer what they have so its a pointless debate thats been done to death a million times!

I have had both, so like both! although the pre-facelift does look dated next to a facelift.

Pre-Facelift looks a lot more aggressive in my opinion. My Black Pre-Facelift with the Airtec Intercooler and black Xenons looks quite menacing

Preface lift for me - yes thats what I`ve got and did consider a later version but to be honest the facelift just looks too "girly" for my liking.

Def think pre-facelift looks meaner (not just because I have one though) still the facelift is a nice car.

Have not had a good look at the facelift interior, didnt like the new console dials as much.

Much the same car though

Take me a few years to get used to new shape cars
