Pre face lift is the ST225, the facelift is anonymous in comparison. For me it was choice not cost, however the money saved on my purchase 12 months ago (2007 ST2 26k on the clock) has been spent on the car since...plus some more.

I sold my eo pre for a white facelift and I think its miles better. The pre does look dated now in comparison to the facelift but I think the fl looks dated now the mk3 is out. Weight and speed makes no difference between the two, if anything my fl seems a lot quicker, out of the two I think it just comes down to own personal choice , I loved my pre fl but every time I saw a fw facelift I new I made a mistake and wanted one.

Pre-facelift is definitely easier to spot and more distinctive. Some of the later facelift models come with black/grey wheels which (imo) look
. The headlights are nice on the facelift though, I used to own a Focus Zetec facelift so I like to think I'm not too biased - but definitely the pre-facelift for me.

Anyone saying the FL doesn't stand out from the crowd are talking through their

You telling me you put it in a line up with a standard Megane,Astra,Leon etc you couldn't tell it was a sports car....that it didn't stand out?

Rubbish!!
What these guys are saying, my friend, is that they don't know the subtle, tell tale signs of a Focus ST facelift against a much more boring, bland and lifeless Zetec S. The gorgeous 18" ST alloys, the shiny twin pipes, the honeycomb grill, the sideways turned Burberry baseball cap (EO drivers only
) the ST badges on wing and rear... These so called "enthusiasts" need to have a word with themselves...

Maybe you're right dave, but at least I can tell the difference between empty space and a brick wall
