Spark plugs?

 

Someone swapped the engine for a diesel?

 

Will check/change the spark plugs today thanks for the quick replies.

Youcould do with getting the fault codes read really.. Do you have a remap on the car? Or a dump valve?

 

Sure the power dies and not clutch slip?

 

Mine goes to just above half boost on the gauge at 4k revs (standard map) Could it not be a boost solenoid issue??

On a standard map at 4k rpm is where the car comes alive!

 

Yeah, mine when standard will hit like a second powerband at 4000rpm and pulls even harder.

 

Yes it has a k&n induction, full exhaust system, dump valve and remapped by dream science.

I have booked in with dream science for early next month to get some answers. Plus I have error ESP Fault and engine management is illuminated.

Do you feel a slight kick and then drop off in power?

I had this problem and my dv was half open and stuck solid. A good service and its running strong again.

 

Take the dump valve off for starters, it's pretty common for them to leak....

 

Is it common for the dump valve to cause the engine management light to stay lit?

 

Is if the DV is stuck slightly open giving a boost leak.

 

or your cat has collapsed if you have one?

 

When my cat collapsed it was like going back to stock, there was no power anywhere.

 

I don't think it's the cat as sometimes it is fine and I get full boost all the way through the rev range. Perhaps it is the boost solenoid sticking??

Mr al; were you getting issues all through the range or just in higher revs?

Going to take the dc off when I get a chance see if I get an improvement, is it an easy enough job?
