Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum. I'm looking at an electric white ST-3 advertised at Perkins Garage in Dunmow. Does anyone know anything about them ?

Are their cars all UK Ford stock (ie not imports).

The price looks fair, the car is full spec with DVD nav, i-pod, bluetooth, privacy glass. 09 spec on a 59 plate and advertised with ford warrenty.

Anyone know if they are OK as a dealer to buy from ?

hi mate. can't help you with your queery about the stealer. i will say that electric white looks absolutly great. the best colour on a facelift imho.
but beware any damage on pearlesent paint is very hard to get colour matched as i found out with my previous electric orange st.
just something for you to be aware of mate.

Cheers mate,

Was originally going to go for performance blue but I think it looks a bit old school RS in the white and sits really nicely with the grey leather. The car seems to be fully spec'd with only 1300 miles on it, so i'll do HPI etc just to be safe.

I have used Perkins to fit my mountune, and can honestly say they are really helpfull and look after their customers. All their cars are well spec'd and uk cars.
They are ST specialists, and are fitting mountune kits to 2-3 st's a week so good reputation for that as well.
Speak to Piers Terry at Dunmow, he is the manager is very knowledgable on the ST and will sell you a good car.

I had a run out there this weekend to have a look at it - it looks nice - the colour particularly. I didn't take it out, because I didn't want to waste the salesmans time... but I wanted to. They've got loads of STs for sale, including mountuned ones

It did seem pretty 'cheap' to me too - considering the RRP would have made it the thick end of £25k, only about 4 months ago.

Careful with the kerbs if you park near the garage though... I got a little too close in my car, and it's cost me £120 for a new tyre after I pinched it on a sharp edge

Guys,

Thanks for the advice. I've also got the offer of a new performance blue car at a good price OTR but without the sat nav, which i'm not really bothered about.

Got my practical head on and I'm starting thinkin that although I really like the white, this is my everyday car and will the stone chips etc show up worse if its black plastic base and drive me mad after 6 months, like it did with my last scooby.

That said if the new deal doesn't come off (though the dealer sounds pretty desperate to get my business - end of the month and all that) I will be straight up to Perkins at the weekend, forget my practical head and buy it as the deal he was offering is effectively the same cost of change as the new car.

Once again thanks for the advice guys, i'll keep you posted at the end of the week and probably be asking who is the best to get it serviced by in Kent / SE London.

Pete
