Not A Happy Bunny...

Not a happy chappy this morning. As I got to work, I noticed a large scrape accross the top of the front wing. It can only have happened in the car park at work yesterday as I've not been anywhere else for the last couple of days. It's just the right hight for the back of one of the work trucks too. No chance of proving it though as no one saw anything and there is no CCTV of the area.

Any idea how much a repair would be??

What a huge pain in the backside mate. Matching your orange will also be a pain
. I had a dent pulled out of my door and the door resprayed to the cost of £250

Hope you get it fixed soon mate

I feel for you mate, a truck backed into mine at work got it sorted though, normally looking at about £250 a panel. Make sure whoever does it has some experience of electric orange, hope you get it sorted soon.

What a total pain

I know in my area you would be looking at £250 per panel at a reputable bodyshop.

Hope you can get it sorted with the minimum of hassle and you are happy with the job

Sorry to hear this Dave
it's so annoying when these things happen.

I enquired about getting my bonnet resprayed a while ago at "Chips away", they said that the wings would need doing as well to get a good match on the paint. IIRC they said it would be around £100 for each wing.

Hope you get it sorted soon fella

Cheers guys. I'm not going to put it through insurance, not worth it. Aswell as a respray it has a crease in the body work which will need a beating. Happy days eh!
Ouch - sorry to hear that Dave.

Thats rubbish. Just a note. I had chips away sort a scratch on an old car about 2 years ago and they did a really good job with the colour match. However (assuming they still do it the same way and i still remember correctly), they spray the paint on dry (rather than wet like a proper body shop with ovens) and therefore the finish is not as shiney afterwards. Didn't matter on my car at the time due to where the scratch was, but if you go for this option on a wing it might be worth asking them about it first.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

Nice find Dan, now just hammer some of that over the dent. Sorted.

Good news!

Despite no CCTV to prove anything, my bosses at work have agreed that the damage must have been caused by a works van. They are very dissapointed a workmate has done this and not owned up. As a result, they are willing to contribute towards the repair costs! It's not going to be the full amount but it's better than the big "F-OFF" I was expecting!
Thats great news Dave

Have you got a quote yet for the repair??
