Newbie With Turbo/boost Question

hi guys, recently bought my 55plate ST, this is my first turbo car and dont really know much about turbos etc, ive have a read through the idiots guide section and a few threads and think im starting to get the hang of it abit, but..ive noticed on my ST recently when i floor it the turbo guage needle only goes up to just past half way, and it doesn't really seem to pull as hard through all the gears, also it seems that the internal dump valve is alot louder, either that or something is making a similar noise when i change gear, is this normal?

also could someone confirm what the oil pressure guage's normal behaviour should be please?

sorry to be such a newbie, as i said ive looked through some threads and can't find much matching up to what im describing. cheers

stock car should first boost to 3/4 mark and quickly drop to 1/2 way mark and stay there.
also this is for 3rd gear upwards.
try a kam reset
pull fuse 26 for about 30mins put back in and then take out for a blast.
james-st is totally right, they never go above half boost in third gear and above, only in transiant boost, IE, when you first floor it, and when you lift really quickly....mine is re-mapped and holds 1.2 bar, to start with, then drops to 1bar....your car is perfectly normal..

I dont think i can hear the internal dump valve on mine when i change gear. I just know that when i give it some when its parked up it crackles and pops when i release
The neighbours love it

what does removng fuse 26 do? im just abit concerned that i can suddenly hear the dump valve because ive read on hear that theyre not normally very loud, could there be something loose?

can anyone explain oil pressure abit for me please as mine is high alot especially when acellorating or at higher speeds, is this correct, if not what should it be like?

sorry about all the questions lol

it wipes the keep alive memory in the ecu, it learns your driving style.
A reset can help the car learn your driving style again and adjust boost etc to compensate.
oil pressure is fine and normal, nothing to worry about there

When its cold your oils viscosity is very high( Thicker ), so when you start your car from cold, it will be over in the max, as the oil gets hotter it gets less viscosity( Thinner ) so the pressure will drop.....when your oil is really hot, at idle it will be about 1.2bar, when its really cold, it will be 5bar....this is perfeclty normal....only ever worry if under power its sits on the low side( in the red) this is bad...no pressure = no lubrication = lots of damage = lots of money....your car is fine matey....thats what this site is all about asking questions...thats why were all members...dont worry...

lol cheers guys, yeah this forum is very helpful lol. ill pull the fuse about half hour before i go for a drive next time, is this fuse under the glove box or under the bonnet? havent even looked where he fuses are in this car, havent really had time to look properly lol
Its underneath the bonnet located next to the battery. Theres a topic with some helpful pictures for finding it, heres the link.
