Hi to all , recently purchased a 17 plate ST3 estate in Deep Impact Blue ,only covered 42k with full Ford service history its a weekend car ,as i use my trusty 240k mile !!! ,performance blue Mondeo St 155 tdci for work , impressed with the performance it has had the Mountune upgrade from new , optional 19" alloys and previous owner fitted 15mm lowering springs , it handles like its on rails and the suspension is a good compromise not too harsh. Only other mod is the RJH splitter kit and Zunsport lower grille
Currently fitted with Uniroyals all round but its ready for a set of new tyres ,any recommendations ? What did Ford fit this car when new ? Been offered a deal on four Michelin Pilot Sport 4S at £150 a corner , which is tempting.

Welcome pilots are great tyres, I went for Goodyear eagle F1’s, as that’s what the car was originally developed on, make sure you read up, or watch some videos on Lspi, it could save your engine, catch can and an inlet clean is highly recommended, for longevity of the engine.

Welcome, and good choice with an estate - not enough of these fine cars around :) . Original fit was Eagle F1s as stated above, but only on 18", I recall all the 19" variants were PS4S. The Mk4 19" also had PS4S, although the mk4.5 19" now uses Pirelli P Zero (with supposedly a Ford Performance specific compound), and the Track Pack option uses a P Zero Corsa. Both my Mk3.5s had the F1s on 18" and I had no complaints. I've never driven PS4Ss, but many people on this forum recommend them.

Welcome, fellow Mk3.5 DIB Estate owner, I assume yours is the petrol version if it has a factory fitted Mountune upgrade. Enjoy the car, look forward to hearing more of your thoughts and plans for the ST as time passes.
Sounds like the Mondeo ST is serving you well, 240k miles, that's some going.

Ive read up on the Lspi issues , i always drop a gear or two if i need a burst of acceleration , flooring it in the higher gears at 1500 revs doesnt do any engine much good to be fair , will definitely be fitting a catch can when the weather warms up :) Thanks for the advice.

Had the Mondeo for 12 years , and got every invoice for the maintenance , just had its 24th oil change !!!! , on its original turbo , pump , injectors , and 2nd flywheel /clutch ,only use premium diesel , had a decat , larger intercooler and re-map years ago and was giving 180bhp , but it might have a few horses now :) and still returns 45mpg.
Not sure i will go mad with the mods on the Focus , think Ford made such a great job of the car from the factory especially with the 275bhp Mountune conversion ,an oil catch can is a definite and i might consider an exhaust upgrade.
Obviously personal opinion but i think the estate is the better looking car in the Focus range, we have good taste.

The Uniroyals are OK , good grip especially in the wet ,but quite noisy on a motorway run , maybe a softer compund tyre would do the trick , good info about the factory fit from new , thanks
