Hi all,

I thought i'd register myself on here as i'm strongly considering Focus ST ownership. At present i drive a 30th Anniversary Civic Type R EP3 shape which has been i'd like to think tastefully modified with KPRO ECU, gruppe m induction kit, RBC inlet manifold, spoon header, fujitsubo catback, tein coilovers. It made 244bhp and it really changed the driving experiance however that came at the cost of a lot of noise in vtec and i fancy something with a turbo on it next.

Now i find myself in a position where i'm looking to commute yet still have fun in something a bit more sensible and something with some gadgets on it. There's a 06 plate ST3 for sale not too far from here in panther black, fsh, leather heated seats, auto lights/wipers for 13k from a ford dealer near me. This is very appealing to and i've read about the Mountune kit in evo magazine and it could be exactly the step up i'm after without making the car unbearably loud that my mrs refuses to drive it.

I'm a member of the type r owners forum and it was a wealth of knowledge so i expect to find a similar wealth regarding the ST.

Hi Mike,

Go for it.....you won't regret it.

Mountune is only one of the options and the forum will give you a wealth of information from owners. Sometimes the choices are confusing, so it all boils down to personal choice in the end and the size of your wallet

You will get a newer ST than an 06 for 13k too

If you look for an ST take your time and find the right one there is plenty out there

Get a test drive,or look for a member in your area that you can get some advice from when buying your

and Jimmy's right you'll get newer for 13k.. I paid 11k from a dealer for a 56 plate 5 door ST3 (autolights/wipers, parking sensors and useless bluetooth cradle thingy) back in April

That looks pretty heavily modded, EP3's not my cup of tea, my brother has one and I really wasnt sold. ST is a wise choice, I looked at Cupra K1 and a new shape type-r. But the ST was just amazing compared. New type r felt alot slower, K1 was quick but seemed to feel a bit cheap.

As mentioned before contact some members in your area, I'm sure that they will take you out for a spin and I like to think that some of us have alot more knowledge than some dealer on a "commission-trip".

Hi mate i've just picked up today an

2 in grey with 15k on, it it was made late 07 and it cost £13k. IT'S AWESOME! Now putting out 260bhp by mountune with the fatter tail pipes it sounds immense. The sony system in it is good but i never have it on because i love the sound of the engine so much. I know you'll make the right choice.

That sounds like my perfect car so long as it isn't too loud. I do like the grey colour and for 13k that seems like alot more than i was lookin at
