Mountune Vs Dreamscience!? Please Help

Hi all i have a 2008
and am lookin to modify it. i have managed to shorten the list of tuners i had to just 2. Mountune and Dreamscience. However i cant make up my mind. I know ppl will say mountune due to warrenty however if i went with them i would have the full exhaust system which voids ur warrenty. im not really fussed about it to be honest due to there only being roughly a year left. So this poses the problem do i go for the full mountune kit including the full exhaust system and LSD or do i go for the DSci stage 3 tuning kit with the LSD and the MOD X when it is out early next year! i cant decide and wud appreciate everyones input, hope to hear from u lot soon

I would be tempted to go with the montune if you have the money to spend. After reading numerous threads it seems to be very impressive.

Although i currently run dreamscience and i am more than happy with it. Is a great handset.

As for mod X, if you dont mind waiting for your map, why not wait for this and then chose?

I think its going to be something special, as all of Dreamscience gear is

hope this helps

By the sounds of it you will want more power down the line so maybe DS or another tuner would be the best way for you to go.

The best thing you can do is to ask if there is someone in your area for a ride in car with the conversions, after all spending that kind of money and ending up not liking it wouldn't be nice. Something I didn't do but I made my mind up I was going the DS route when I went for a ride in Jared car.

Cheers lads for all ur help and advice appreciate it!! spoke to jared today and DSci has won!!
. Ur right in saying i will want more power down the line and it is true i will. 300bhp+ is my aim and i am more than able to acheive this with dreamscience!! am looking forward to my trip up there come the new year!!
And the ppl tht say mountune remaps r progressive though the rev range and DSci jus through u back in ur seat, DSci over maps to cover everyones needs if u want progressive uve got it if u want out right power uve got it. i do appreciate ppl will be biased with wot they have and appreciate ur input. mind made up and im going for DSci with mod X when its available. unless someone can sway my decision, but i doubt it lol.
Cheers again lads!

I went the DS route, although I used miltek exhaust pieces, pro-alloy intercooler k&n cais and had Ds mod-b which produced 297bhp and 374lb/ft torque. my mate had same mods only used the DS cais and he produced 301 bhp, he has upgraded his Ds set to run mod-c and the car runs even better (passes my Rs with ease).
Bottom line i'd say Ds complete package would be the way to go.

Hi Bengy,

I'm a mountune owner and couldn't be happier although I stopped at the 260 conversion and cat back to preserve warranty and keep my insurance low - MT seems to be a bit cheaper to insure as it's a ford approved mod and recognised by the insurance database.

All that said it sounds like your requirements are different and money doesn't sound like it's a problem - Mountune is probably the sensible man's mod and there's only so far you can take it so you may be better off with DS or CR (profile are excellent!).

My only advice would be to drive a mountune car and a ds car before you buy because everyone likes different things and has different driving styles.

Don't be thinking Mountune is tame though and don't get swayed by HP figures!

All the best and enjoy!

I agree with HollST, although having never driven a DS or CR car, I'm extremely happy with the 260. It does exactly what I was after which was more performance and the 'confidence' that it has all been OK'd by Ford regardless of whether you still have warranty remaining or not.

Have to admit I'm curious on how the DS and CR cars perform and no doubt will get an idea, next time I attend a meet

Nothing against the other tuners as they all come highly praised on this forum, but have never heard a single moan about the Mountune and I can see why

All in all regardless which you choose/have chosen you will love it

cheers guys again for all ur input and help appreciated, it has been a tough decision of mine but i think i have come to one. im not slating moutune at all from wot i have heard is its excellent and does a great job however ur all right in saying for what i want and want to achieve DS is the better option with all the DS bits. wud be great if ne1 else has any more input. am looking forward to hear and see figures with regards to MOD X. With regards to insurance DS r close with greenlight so tht shudnt be a problem. Warrenty ive only got a yr left so touch wud nothing will go wrong but im sure im in safe hands with jared and karl! please feel free to add more thoughts!
Both are brilliant options, I did have DS and went to Mountune because I preferred the peace of mind it gave. Of course since then we all know its shown it can make up to 285bhp on the rr lottery and even more in some cases, and it certainly keeps up with most things!

They have also released some new bits which should add 20bhp (full turbo back exhaust) and there are bits in the pipeline. However if your mad on modding DS is probably a very good choice. If your not 100% I would try both mate

Drove garys CR295 v impressed v tempting, but i just like the peace of mind with the mountune. plus after the warranty theres more u can do mountune downpipe and cat. anyone agree?
LOL you change your mind more than I change my pants!! Pick one and go for it!!!!! Code Red, Mountune, Dreamscience ...........All are excellent Dreamscience was cheapest for me and what I wanted I love it....Mod B+ and Mod C are superb maps pushing 300bhp+........So come on 5H1T or get off the pan! LOL
