Another one here with the estate due to the little one. Absolutely love it. Glad to hear the mpg gets better, not that I bought it for the mpg but currently not too great, only getting 7mpg more on average than my mustang GT I had. Same journeys
No, me neither.nice options, i dont think ive seen a black one on the roads yet
.. the mk4 has inner & outer light clusters that look like they were designed by 2 different people, the 4.5 used 1 designerThe mk4.5 has darker tinted light clusters on the back compared to the mk4.
On the estate maybe? I don't see that for the hatch... the mk4 has inner & outer light clusters that look like they were designed by 2 different people, the 4.5 used 1 designer![]()
This is all IMHO, by the way. It looks to me like the top strip is supposed to get wider as it goes from inside to outside, You can see this in the pic below, but whenever I see one lit up, it looks like the inner & outer pairs don't match, it's hard to explain. This does seem worse on the estate, where the inner/outer split is further outboard. On the estate maybe? I don't see that for the hatch.
not sure which is the top, on my screen they are side by side. The red car is a FL, the dark (grey?) is PFL. The FL lamp theme (I think they call it "design language") with the loop all the way round is same as Puma, and I assume the Kuga FL will get something similar.so the top pics the facelift? cant say ive even noticed that before![]()
I've been contemplating whether to fit a set of the moulded type mud flaps when I've taken delivery but wondered about the ride height. I remember one of my previous cars touching the ground when I drove up onto the drive.magnetic grey and performance pack. mudflaps are going to be fitted from the dealer before collection that i will pay them for they are available from ford if you look on the ford parts website, i did the same thing on my puma st that i currently own. i have brought my last 2 cars brand new from the same dealer, so maybe discount added for that reason, i ordered the car on black friday so got some extra discount through that, £500 deposit contribution, £500 trade up. the 0% apr is still available over 2 years and it is 3.9% over 3 years.
Ford don't do mudflaps for the Focus ST.I've been contemplating whether to fit a set of the moulded type mud flaps when I've taken delivery but wondered about the ride height. I remember one of my previous cars touching the ground when I drove up onto the drive.
Sounds like an echo.Ive had Focus MK1, MK3.5 and 2 x MK4 ST’s and a Puma ST, numerous Escorts, Cortina’s, Capri, Granada, Fiesta, Sierra and a good few Mondeo’s (love Mondeos) , Galaxy’s and a Cougar. I didn’t say I don’t like Fords obviously! I stopped buying then as my main personal car about 20 years ago. Been a work or second car since. VAG, BMW, Audi, Jag and a few others took their place as first choice, but we’ve nearly always had a Ford or two out there if not Ford a Vauxhall but the last of those was over 10 years ago. If I had to have 1 ford and nothing else it would nearly always have been a Mondeo and if they had kept the ST going, or put better performance petrol engines in them instead of mostly boring diesels, I probably would have had a few more instead of a few of the german cars as they were easily just as good, better than some as a car. As it is I also love performance hatches, the engine and gearbox of the ST is superb along with mostly decent everything else, enough to pip the i30n for me. But now struggle to get interested in a 4.5, gutted really. Price massively OTT along with the interior just rules it out for me. But VAG has done similar and ruled themselves out too, interior is a lot nicer to look at but horrendous to use.
This is getting spooky! Prior to visiting the dealer, I did a fair bit of internet trawling. There are lots of bad reviews of: the fake carbon fibre inserts, lots of cheap looking black plastic, underwhelming exhaust tips, a start/stop button that looks like part of the dash and the fad for putting almost every control into the touch screen. Someone even commented that one of the Ford designers must have seen the complaints on social media about VW doing it and thought it was good idea to do the same.I hate (not dislike) in order of hateness ! The stripped out dash/removal of the heater panel etc, it was never an audi in there but now its plain bad and beyond boring along with the stupid idea of controlling everything via the screen. The screen itself is far too big and gainly. The seats, or rather the headrests, nooo. Not only 4.5 but the natty lcd dash, prefer quality dials /lcd mix but do like others LCD’s, a software update could improve that a lot just by adding bezels to the dials and bloody numbers on the speedo, who the hell thought of that, does he still work for Ford? You have to sit in there after committing to a mortgage to”rent” it. Also not keen the new front end much, but could live with that, ever since someone on here said it looked like a Transit at the front, it stuck and I see a Transit! And don’t like the loss of the PS4s tyres.
Nicer to drive than a GTi ? Assume mk8 or at least mk7.5 ? Depends what you mean by”nicer to drive” ? The Golf has a far better ride, more refined and to most more comfortable making it superb to drive. But if you prefer a sharper more focused with a less forgiving (and configurable) ride and experience, the Focus delivers. While since I drove a mini but driven a M135 which is the same platform (not talking old JCW’s) and it is a better car than a Focus ST. Infact with a Focus at £40k an easy decision for most , or equally the 128ti. The 128ti has to be the best hot hatch currently in fwd form, if only they were manual I would order one or the other today.
