Can't really drop the roof now that it's built...

Mine is showing as a 2023 car but I don't think there has been any changes.
Don't forget it's RRP on the road but NOT including the road tax. Don't feel you have to buy it, you certainly don't. I would sit back, put a level head on and take stock. You have a string of reasons you can justify walking away from it and that is a BIG one, not that you need any. Check out the many new ones available now with dealers, to find the spec you want or would happily have, there's not many extras available so hopefully should be one and save that tax and the hassle of trying to sell it again without people turning their noses up at it. The PCP final values are low, far lower than their real values so that doesn't protect you at all really. My car is worth around £25k trade currently, was about £30.5K new after carwow discount (they have dropped a lot last 6 months was £30k) and that is still £10K more than what the final PCP payment was going to be in 6 months time at 3 years old. I have done some builds online and surprisingly even though they have gone up a ridiculous amount, the final PCP values are not much different to mine! However if you plan on and keep it for a number of years the problem eventually disappears to you and future owners. it's 6 years before it drops to normal Tax level.

Does anyone know if the cars are 2023 spec yet and what the 2023 spec is? Guessing most or all delivered up to now will be 22 spec especially as they have likely been standing around. There’s always some changes for a model year?
Mine started being built november 11th. finished around 23rd i think and gate released 2nd december. Showing as 2023.25.

According to the whereismymme, my car has been gate released on the 8th. Bad news is I’m getting stung with the new VED rates…

My salesman has explained to me the VED rate is based on the list price of the car at time of manufacture. Oh well.

I’d really like to know what that extra £1,025 in “Addtional Costs” are.

First year VED - Road Tax, Number Plates and half a tank of E10 fuel if your lucky. The price is cringeworthy.

Fingers crossed there, you might just sneak under! Definitely push to find out what those ‘additional costs’ are. Shame if one of those options actually costs you an extra grand due to the increased VED. Take it that it’s too late to ask them to switch off the Performance Pack? Can only be software, unlike a pano roof or sensors / cameras.

That says on the road price. Like others have said VED rate is based on the list price of the car including delivery charges and registration fees etc but excluding first years road tax Shiah is £945 I believe. Mine has been gated released and it says VED MRRP £38955. On the Ford configurator it shows otr price as £39980. So I’m under either way but hopefully yours just sneaks under

If this is correct I may be okay then as the OTRP that Ford list is £40,875. The first licence rate based on CO2 emissions and fuel type is £945 so minus that from the OTRP brings it to a smidge under the £40k mark...
Why didn’t or don’t you just ask them what the road tax is going to be?

I think your ok.The RRP should be £39850. The £1025 should be made up of £945 first year road tax plus £55 registration fee plus £25 petrol. If not I know what I would do.

To be honest I should have but I’ll phone tomorrow and speak with them.

The car has now been gate released to which is good news.

Looking forward to getting all my Mountune parts on it!

Any body else's car being delayed with delay showing as EV? Mine has been sat built in Germany for over 2 months now after being built with a delay. After multiple calls to dealer and customer service with no updates managed to find Ford UK MDs email and her teams response
"Unfortunately, your vehicle is delayed due to EV which means there is currently an issue with the radio awaiting to be retro fitted with a part. Currently, the team are working tirelessly to get these vehicles fitted with the part and back out to be delivered. Rest assured, as soon as the vehicle has any updates the dealership will be able to obtain these prior to ourselves and this is the reason we have recommended you discuss this further with your dealer" the dealers response is we don't know what's happening every time I've asked.
Waited a year and a half now and it's one more delay after another if my deal wasn't so good I'd have cancelled a long time ago.

@I'llGetAnStOneDay That really sucks

I waited 15 months before mine arrived at the end of September.

Like you if it wasn't for the price I signed up at and the spec, I would have walked away months beforehand. My trade-in had also gone down but they honoured the agreed price making my saving even bigger.

Trouble is it's not exciting anymore just stressful. Even when mine finally turned up it was more relief than joyous.

Stick with it, hopefully they will surprise you and it will turn up when your not expecting it 🤞

What they don’t mention is scarce parts are always prioritised, and fleet/rental etc cars come first. A factory order will likely always come last as your already caught, especially when there are also cars available from stock. I would like to know when these cars were actually built and where they store them. Dates under bonnet will tell you when built but no one seems to want to say.
