I called ford about the battery drain issue and a
They told me to go through ford assistance to get the AA out.
the AA man has juts been and tested the battery and run diagnostics, the battery is 100 % fine and no faults reported on diagnostics so he’s putting down to a software glitch. He says it’s becoming more common on modern cars. He went into a detailed explanation of the ways cars manage the battery these days.
He made it very clear he is not a Ford fan though, he spent most of the time highlighting all the poor/ lazy design choices In the engine bay and basically said I should have got a Honda 😆
Sadly he’s probably right. Not many of us left daft enough to waste our money on Fords. Although in my case they are not my main car, if it was I would definitely not even consider one. And yes if you look closely at the build quality you see cheaping down to the extreme. Have you got hold of the interior trim running down the A pillars etc, it hardly exists , same for all around the edges, trim barely overlaps each other and it’s just loose. Same for external plastic’s etc. Are they worse than others, in most cases yes, certainly down there as the lower mid table others have upped their quality PSA/Renault/Nissan etc while Ford has definitely gone the other way. Although I have never had battery issues with any of my ST’s.
Why are you thinking the battery has issues? Your not going by the”app” are you? That automatically disconnects remote services after a few days and is irrelevant, the battery is still fine. Mine has been left for 4 or 5 weeks after that notification and started up with a lively battery no problem at all. The remote featured time out. If there are issues, go to your dealer and tell them to investigate/fix it.
