Ordered a focus St in performance blue with performance pack and a couple of extras June 2021 with a delivery date for September 21, this came and went dealer didn't call to update got hold of them and said it had now moved to November 21 again this rolled around and nothing called and told they had stopped building the mk4 and would probably have order upgraded to facelift. January 22 rolled round called for an update order was now for the mk4.5 and had to change colour due to performance blue being dropped from the range. Delivery now due in march 22. Called dealer 4 times and emailed multiple times with no call back until I complained. Finally got an email back with a new proposed delivery date no sooner than end of the summer August/September 22 (15months from order) only reason I've not cancelled as they are honouring the original price and currently in a Puma st line x 1st edition plus not bad on fuel and plenty of toys onboard plus the equity is going up so will just end up bringing price down on the focus when trading in.

First few days of February - tbh the wait time doesnt really bother me too much as I am sat in the cheap little 70 plate Fiesta enjoying 45mpg.

I did call the dealer the other day with regards to the agreed price and the 0% apr PCP offer to make sure that everything will be honoured in the event of the car being held up until this time next year and its all good on that side...
Happy days with 0% and price. I ordered mine 27th Feb still being told it will go into build over the next few weeks but from what I'm reading on here it looks doubtful. A local dealer has told me he has one for sale and its due early to mid May its all built just waiting on shipping so if that turns up I will have that and cancel mine. Hopefully will still get the 0% as its brand new.

Used car prices are dropping so would check that out on the Puma.

I've been keeping an eye the prices original trade in value on deal was £21250 same dealer now offering £23000 granted this may drop by the time it arrives but the price has been holding steady due to the model being top spec with every option included and small crossover popularity increasing should definitely have more equity than my original deal though 🤞

Initially this was a major factor with me - I went to the dealer and asked him what car would hold its price best in terms of a (then) 6 month wait time and he pointed me to getting a little Fiesta ST-Line hybrid. So I found a fully loaded one 13 months old for £17k and was told I would be given a minimum of £15.5k when the ST arrived. Cos its now possible I could be waiting a year I am not really too bothered about the trade in value cos I am currently finance free, no service due to next January and the car will only be around two years old, under 10k on the clock with warranty left on it by early next year so I still look set to be able to command a respectable trade in...

Used cars stopped going up after Xmas, they had fallen back about 20% by last month with a very slight recovery, maybe 5% max in last month. My ST has fallen from it's peak before Xmas of £30,500 to £25,500 now. The £30500 mine was at was the same as I paid for it brand new 1.5 years earlier.

Ordered new Focus ST last October with estimated April build and to be delivered end of May. I was given 22.5K p/x for my 2019 Focus ST for end of May. Just been given today from dealership that Ford have officially released documentation to dealers that the ST will only be built with Sync 4 and estimated for September/ October build. Dealership priced the deal up for October as an experiment and my P/X was now 15K plus the new ST pricing has also gone up. Luckily they are still honoring the original price.

15k!! That’s lies from them immediatleySounds like they are using the fear of loosing more money to keep you locked in to the deal and stop you doing a runner for an i30N 🙄

a few dealers near me are throwing 2019 examples out the door at 28-29k and they’re selling quite fast

I have managed to get a cancelled order already on the ground got 1st refusal on it albeit with a small discount ( due to 0 in the country and a halt on production) - question is will it holds its money with the currently plight of issues ford are facing..

agree on the used market though prices are falling from the ceiling they once were

its been 4 years since I sold my MK3.5 ST to Be sensible. That was a mistake and I’ve regretted it ever since. On Thursday I finally corrected that and so far she doesn’t Disappoint.
I can’t wait to get a few more miles on the clock so I can give it a proper run on some B roads.
Wow! Are you the first in the group to get your Mk4.5 ST? Hopefully mine isn't far behind. BTW, it looks fantastic. Enjoy.

Make sure you get some wheel sealant like autoglym wheel protector on them tailpipes or they will be a tainted rust coloured mess in a matter of weeks

apply the above Once a month should keep them like new
I can’t understand why Ford didn’t put Stainless steel tips on. It’s just the same mild steel as the rest of the exhaust.

I was hoping they would have sorted it for the facelift but in all honesty they haven’t improved a thing apart from their profit margin

I tried q7 tips, they look ****e. Stick out way too far and have a tendency to move over time. Sadly fabricators want you to buy a full £800-1000+ system just to have nice tips. One fabricator I went to that’s done work for me before said full system or nothing not interested in tips and said he’d already at least 10 mk4 owners come in before me asking for tip solutions. I know full well I’d pay £200 to have just tips done

just like builders, joiners and most trades they aren’t interested unless it’s a big job.

Any advice on running the engine in? I’d put myself in the mechanical sympathetic camp when it comes to cars, but I also want to enjoy a car and not overthink it. I couldn’t find anything specific in the manual or online regarding engine break in recommendations for the 2.3 ecoboost so I’ve been going on what I’ve learnt in the past ie not idling, not babying and cruising but equally not exceeding 4000 rpm and max 50%throttle (and obvs not short runs and letting oil get to temp)
I’ve seen some manufactures recommending 1000km of this but then some engine builders saying first 100 km is most important but 200km is easily enough.
I’ve already put 300 miles on doing this process so I’m tempted to go and fully enjoy it now (maybe not redline yet though)
What do you guys think? Those with pre facelifts, what did you do?
Thanks. James.

Looks great mate, congratulations.
If it was available in Performance Blue, I’d probably get one!
Since it is not, I will continue to enjoy my pre-facelift :D
