Wow that’s amazing. All I can think is that someone must have pulled the plug on their order as it was about to be built and you have taken over that order perhaps?Just had another update from my dealer. My car build was completed yesterday and is awaiting shipment now. ETA is 06/11/21.
I have no idea how my order had been so quick. If it arrives on time that will be less than 8 weeks from order to collection!
At least it’s built 👍Another Saturday and another missed delivery to the dealer. Haven’t had a new date yet.
Has your car arrived yet?Latest news is that it’s due with the dealer “around the 10 November”.
Fingers crossed that it’s 3rd delivery date lucky!
What’s the alternative though and what part of the situation is a joke? This is out of the dealers hands and whilst it’s crazy that there is a semiconductor shortage, that’s the problem we are faced with. I know people who have been waiting similar lead times with VAG. The used car market has gone crazy for the simple reason there are no new cars out there. I placed my order Jan 20 and was recently told that I would likely get a new model for the price of the old one, which I’m happy with and when it comes, it comes. I obviously need to do a new order form though. However my situation may be different to yours as I’m not rush as my Mk3 is still going strong. I have had a different experience with my dealer though. They MOTd my car and also did the 3 year service free of charge because of the situation and I didn’t expect them too. I hope whatever you go for now is a better experience for you 👍I placed order in November 2020 to replace current ST, dealer couldn’t be bothered to update me on the delays last time he called me was feb 2021 after I chased him, no news but expect update soon. I thought let’s see how long it takes to respond. Nothing until I called him last week December and said WTF I know there’s a new model out what’s occurring, ah glad you’ve called your car might be here in Jan he says. What about the new model I say, yeah I will talk to my manager to see if we can change your order. Back he comes few days later yeah we can update to new facelift model. Should arrive in June. At that point I said stuff it cancel my order as this is a joke.

That’s rubbish. I’ve been one of the lucky ones then. My dealer rang me Friday to say my order that has been in since last Jan will now be changed over to the new one but won’t have to pay price increase. Just had to change colour due to them discontinuing Orange Fury.Know what you mean mate; I placed my order for a new ST Focus on 6th Dec 2020 with an eta of April/May 2021. After a couple of months my dealer updated me with an anticipated delivery of July. July came and went and guess what.....delivery now quoted as Sept 2021.
Fast forward to September and eta then went back to Nov 2021.
Now at this stage the facelift had been announced so I went to my dealer and said that I didn’t want the old model anymore and requested that I be upgraded to the new model. Dealer said he would look into it and rang me back saying guys who ordered the Mk 8 ST Fiesta would automatically be upgraded to the new shape at no extra cost so obviously the same would apply to the ST Focus. At that time the eta was not known because the Ford plant was shut over Christmas. However, just a couple of weeks before Xmas, I got a call from the dealer saying my car was due to be built in Jan 2022 with an eta of Feb/Mar but it would be the old shape.
WTF! totally unfair I said as everyone else was getting upgraded so why should I be palmed off with the old shape which would be out of date the minute it hit the showroom. Dealer tried to say it would be unique as not many of them left........stuff that for a game of soldiers!
Needless to say I promptly cancelled my order and paid the balloon payment on my stunning ST Fiesta M235.
Not the dealers fault I hasten to add...it was Ford who wouldn’t allow the upgrade because they had a load of old shape bodies left to use up and it just so happened that one of them was earmarked as a ST.
Sorry for the rant.....just wanted to say that I felt your pain @db28.
I went for the green too. It’s the only exclusive paint they do now for some reason but I’ve seen it in the flesh on a puma and whilst not as striking as the Orange, it’s still a great colour. My dealer did say they were going to spec the heads up display free of charge so push them on it if they try and make you pay for it.I'm in the same situation as you @TSP79
I ordered my Mk4 ST in Orange Fury in July 21. The last update I had from the dealer in November was my car was due to be built in December 21 with delivery in January 22 which I had guessed was not going to happen. I'm sure the 'Edition' build was to use the last of the Mk4 bits up.
I contacted the dealer at the end of December who confirmed it hadn't been built and we met at the beginning of January to agree a plan of action.
My dealer updated me this week.
I can change my order to the mk4 face lift model at no additional cost however Orange Fury has now gone.
I think they are only doing Red, Black, White and Green but I might be wrong. Blue has also gone. Not sure about grey.
We have agreed to amend the order to Mean Green and await an update from the dealer who has to look at pricing as some of the spec has now changed.
The Heads Up Display which was originally an optional extra but became standard on the later mk4 builds and was standard on my order has now gone back to an optional extra. It's something I want.
So my dealer is checking the new spec and will update me next week.
Estimated lead time April 2022.
We did consider cancelling the order but then we have to start again and go to the bottom of the queue if we order something else. My wife prefers the green to the orange and as my mk3 ST is running better than ever since I had the DPF cleaned, I'm quite happy to wait.
Thanks @AP90 and congrats on getting your car so quickly.
Still waiting for my dealer to let me know what is standard and not standard on the facelift model, and how that compares to my original order.
I'm hoping they will match the original spec at no extra cost. We will see.
We are going on Monday to look at a 21 plate Ford Puma that my wife has reserved. It's an ST Line X and I can't believe the level of standard spec. It's pretty impressive. Add on 19" wheels, power tailgate, Pan roof, Winter Pack and Driver Assistance Pack and it's fully loaded.
Must have the same options as mine comes out the same 👍Thanks for the info @TSP79 that's really helpful.
Makes mine come out at £37,405 on the new price list.
Exactly same spec 👍6 speed manual, green, performance pack, pan roof and added the £400 on for HUD
Well they dropped the Performance blue for the Facelift so I wouldnt believe any of the adverts saying March build date and showing a pre-faceliftAutotrader….. There is a blue ST in stock at Day’s Swansea for £32,200. Others around in stock too but mostly Auto unfortunately. Loads of others claim they have them or will soon.
Ah I was commenting on the ones on Autotrader that are refer to have stock arriving soon. Some are advertising for March delivery if you place an order now, which we all know they cannot guarantee. Not sure what you mean. The car available is in the showroom and available now for £32200 if it's not just been sold. Obviously it is not the facelift as none of those are around, there are others in showrooms too. a few Autos.
Read the description.
"The brand new Focus! Loaded with standard spec and available to order with options and colour of your choice., Full of upgrades to put the spec way above the outgoing model., For more info or to secure your factory order build slot, call us on 01902 875400 and ask for the new car sales team! , Metallic Mean Green, £34,225"
I don't think that car is for sale. I think it will sit in the showroom to entice customers to order.
Orders will then join the queue. Could be wrong.
I agree, it was more to share the photos and nice to know at least some have been built 😂
Fingers crossed we hear something soon but I try not to get my hopes up!
