Hmm. When I changed the alternator I had to move the ecu to get the airbox out. I just took the bolts out so I could move it slightly to one side. That was about a month before the first misfires. I'm wondering whether that has damaged ecu. I will give them a call.

It could be that the plugs are just loosened or an earth could be disconnected/missing/not making contact. Easy enough to check. From what the ECU Doctors said to me the issue is more common on cars where the ECU has been moved to fit a CAIS or similar but the ECU is quite delicate & especially now with the wires & such on these cars getting a bit brittle & sensitive through age & heat etc it is worth a look!

I think you might have found the cause with the ECU. As said check the connections and earth.
