Hi guys

Our car will be due it's 3rd yr service around May time, the thing is, it will only have done around 12,000 come service time. Will I expect to pay full price, or due to the low miles, not have to pay for a spark plug change, I believe the 3rd one is a major.

The service intervals are always stated in miles and time, ie. every 12.5k miles or once a year, whichever comes first. Price will be the same as your low mileage has no affect on the checks made.

Our lasses will be the same next year.

I would change the plugs (they do not cost that much) and fluids as recomended, especially the brake fluid if not already done from new as these are effected by age however I would not bother with pollen filter and if the air filter was done at some point I would not bither with that, there again why not get a K&N replacement element and never have to pay for one ever again (there are some new ones for sale on here for little £).

Why not try a specialist for the service the saving on the labour shoudl cover the cost of the bits you were wanting not to replace

I was similar - 3 yrs ='d 17k. I got the full service fluid/filters but excluded the plugs. Seemed daft to pull something that wears by use and I've always been a believer in don't change 'em unless its misfiring or its being a pain to start. That said, I just put a set of RS plugs in at the 4yr service as they are a good bit cheaper than the ST plugs.
